Geez - I'm stock and get excited when I get 26mpg... would stage II increase that?

My AP doesn't have that feature that I'm aware of (V1). The best I've calculated was around 28.5mpg. That's with a custom tuned STX race map.

I have not idea, maybe a little because your car runs really rich from the factory.

Have you guys seen the Evo (bad bish II) 620whp on 93oct he claims to get 33mpg highway, is that possible .

My mpg increased 10% when I flashed the Stage I map. The best mpg I got was 31 mpg at 65 mph on the interstate.

New record, 32mpg

It doesn't make any sense I'm getting better mpg (according to my AP) in hot weather rather than in cold weather

so my 02 wrx gets bad mpg does the ap v2 help ur mpgs i get like 230 miles to a tank?

Ha ha I was just running a test on this.

Running the fuel economy map for my 2007 wrx cobb+ tbe, I got 29.4 on the highway running 75mph cruise control most of the way. But I ran into La traffic and I did stop at a drive through on the way too. This was an average on a 100 mile trip. Going to test it on the stage 2 map on the way back.

maybe, what it helps me is the fuel economy gauge, I just play a game against myself. To try to get highest possible MPG :o.

No AP but my 2 cents.
Totally stock '03 WRX with 60k on it.
On the highway 75mph to A.C from O.C. NY, got almost 360 from full tank. Drove it aggressive on entrance and exit.
In town at home, I have trouble squeezing 250 from full :p
It's all how you lean on it ;)
So what are you saying Juan? That it's worth getting AP?
I need an AP badly. I need a boost gauge too....

to me it is worth it, your car runs very rich from the factory by flashing the stage I map your car will make more power and run leanner.
Prosport gauges are nice.

How about the economy mode? Is it worth re-flashing before a road trip if you don't need the full power?

I just (literally 30 minutes ago) set up my new AP and it is awesome. Total difference. Stronger, meatier midrange. Couldnt be happier, but I don't wanna muck around with the flashes too much if its not worth it otherwise...

just swap to real time map, it's not flashing at all. you'll be fine.

I think I'll keep my 25 or so mpg's and get on it from time to time! :)

For those guys that are getting the phenomenal gas mileage, are you risking running lean?

What mods do you have? Do you monitor EGTs?
Anyone running a 16g or 18g and getting good mileage?

Thanks!

I'm not getting phenomenal mileage but its phenomenal compared to what it was (17-19) I just have an off the shelf Stage 2 93 octane tune, 3" catless turbo back and a K&N panel filter.

Cruise control and chill behind semi's when you can. It helps if you have a pre-cracked windshield so that you don't care about taking another one.

Since cold air is more dense, doesn't it require more force to push through it rather than when it's thin and warm? I notice the same thing between summer and winter. Right now I hit just shy of 27mpg on a road trip to Chicago which was mostly freeway but then the stop and go through the city. I'm looking forward to summer when I can do even better. I'm looking even more forward to selling my Celica transmission so I can buy an AP :sadbanana:

So Stage 1 actually bumps you up by 10%? I also wonder what the fuel economy mode does for that. Also, would the fuel economy map run too lean in the long run (like a daily driver application) and damage anything?

Someone told me that the fuel economy map just limits boost to 7 psi max, but does not change fuel ratios. I don't know for sure.

I wish i was getting better gas mileage with the ap like some of you guys are, hell i got way better gas mileage when i was stock and had 2 downhill bikes on my roof, now i'm lucky to get 21 mpg stage 2 or 1 essentially the same mileage, it was average to get 26 or so mpg when i was stock which included flogging it alot and the bikes on the roof. You guys have some miracle ots maps from cobb

From Nashua to Boston i regularly get about 34 MPG with VF39 39 octane basemap with the economy map flashed realtime once I get past the on ramp fun.

Did make it from Boston to Long Island, NY and all the way back on one tank of gas cruising @67.

one last thing, has anyone on here checked their calculated economy versus their AP reported economy? I did once on my trip to NY from boston and found i got about 28.3 when AP said i was getting 31-32 the whole way there and back and i did maybe 10-15 miles of mild to moderate driving while not metering.... just curious.

Especially interested in people with injectors that are not stock!

:unamused:

It basically sets max wastegate duty % to 0 so your running mechanical boost pressure, which helps you stay out of boost. Fairly sure it leaves fuel alone. I have found that it generally adds from 1-4 MPG depending on driving though.

Cobb Stg 1, 40.9 MPG. That was only 7.822 gallons worth of gas though. i just wanted to see the best mpg i could get and its hard not hitting boost. but i did lean things out a bit with my street tuner (with a friends help), so i think the mpg problem might actually just be a problem with our right foot. ;)

I'd take a 1-4mpg gain, that would put me at just below my stock Celica used to get. I figure if I can have the stability and safety of AWD and decent fuel economy that would be a win for my daily driving.
