Who here has had problems with cometic headgaskets leaking coolant?

Did you use copper spray or use them dry as suggested by cometic?

I have done 5 engine builds all 500+hp never had a cometic issue, great product IMHO.

I recently spoke to my contact at Cometic about this very issue. His thoughts upon seeing the failed gaskets and his firsthand knowledge of Subaru engines, is that the majority of failures are due to head lift at high cylinder pressures. Studs and/or torquing sequence should eliminate any chances of this type of failure, but it's not the gaskets. I just deleted the email he sent me about this too, or I would've copied it here for y'all.

His main points of note are the specific surface finish of 40RA and the absolute need to skip the loosening by 180*+180* steps in the torquing sequence. I knew about this in talking to him, but don't remember seeing it in the text included with each gasket. I think they may start including that note with each one now.....we'll see.
