Hey Guys,
I have a 99 2.5RS and Under sudden/medium-to-heavy load, i get this whistling noise thats pretty loud and seems to be coming from the exhaust. But when i accelerate slowly theres no whistling. I have no ideas.
is it a vacuum hose?
i also just rebuilt my motor, its still on break in, and it has reground cams, no other engine mods.
thanks for any help
cheers

The whistling is usually the axleback tip if you still have the stock one. Don't worry about it or change it to a nice aftermarket one.
What grind of cams did you take? How do you like them?

oh okay, sweet
i'm getting a stromung dual tip after wheels/body/paint
so i'll have to live with it for awhile but as long as its nothing, no worries
its called a "mild/fast road" grind, and it was done by a guy in BC that ken from Miles Imports uses. I can get the name if you'd like, but it is a little more expensive then delta cams. The guy said this grind can add 10-20% depending on other mods. Mine is stock so i'm guessing 10ish% so maybe 110-120whp. this summer i might be getting a baseline with them so we'll see what happens.
I havn't been able to test them out really, i'm still breaking in the motor, i re-ringed the block and i have another 175kms to go. from 2-3k rpm its normal as before, but then from 3-4k it starts picking up fast even with 60-80% throttle, not even WOT and then i shift up before 4k+ comes... lol i'm going to an autocross on the 30th (march) and the motor should be fore 1000kms, so i'll let you know then
cheers
