Yet another "what color wheels?!" thread.

But this time, I've made it simple. Well, somewhat simple.
I've chopped a few color/paint options I'm thinking of for my Prodrive P-1's restoration that might go nicely with my wagon.

Originally, only thinking of a scratch/curby refinish and a fresh coat of paint simular to it's original anthracite (gunmetal-ish) color.
I'm now pondering if maybe a fresh new look for the P1's are in order for a change.

Long story short. Which color appeals to you most? and feel free to add in a reason.
I know this is subjective, however, just thought I'll throw it out there for anyone who gives a hoot. :)

Charles it will be great to have a poll on this thread.

I will vote for Silver or Gunmetal. I managed to remember you have black + polised for your winter beater. so no Black for you again. Silver makes me feel your car clean and clear (I like it clean), gunmental looks hotter, more sleeper.

Gold never goes wrong on Suby, but too much gold on street already, if gold, take Billy's SSR, other than that, keep it silver!

Time attack looks dope but if you want something more subtle the silver looks great. Gunmetal might be a nice compromise?
They all look good on a white car (except the black / polished lip - blech!)

For me personally, I dont care much for gold rims, but they do look hot on your car if they fit your style.

I choose everything. :)

black with polish lip, I think. looks real nice with the white. paint your calipers silver too. :)

Seems that it is indeed very subjective, for everyone sways to different routes...as expected.
The Validation I got, was based off your point of views, in which are actually the same as mine when testing out notions in this photochop.

I believe at this point, my hand shows a choice with in

BLACK/HYPER BLACK -sleeper with a bit of a edge
GUNMETAL -sleeper

For a GOLD set, I'll paint my winter's, or trade for some goldies for next winter.

By all means, feel free to add your opinions guys. Gives me a bit more to consider.

yes. the rear spats are photoshopped, for I still have not gotten around to installing them yet.
I chopped them in, just to have a line of sight in regards to the spring/summer set-up with the new paint job on the wheels ;) I think it'll look ok, not too ricey, and OEM looking.

Heres mine in white. They r a who-er to clean but I like the look better thanblack. It seems like everyone does black and the wheels dissapear.

OK here's the verdict after a night of consideration.

Based off the rebound of opinions with great responses from all you guys here on VIC; we even got some spare change from our white stocker friend in IOWA ?! LOL


Hyper Black is high on my final decision, OR a compromise of a "very dark" near black gun-metal, based off a valid point that stuck in my head that Paul mentioned. Wheels will be finished with clear coat for a shiny look :)

Here it is in a photochop...not too much different, if anything the gunmetal is still a bit light.

Time attack lovers -
I really like the time attacks aswell! However, I think it may be too hardcore for my wagon....the wife, baby seat, and TIME ATTACKS! LOL
Maybe if one day I can afford a STi all for myself, I'll get a set for sure.

Silver Lovers-
very clean like you guys said, and they do look great! just a little off target with the big picture I have in mind after looking at it in the photo-chop. Going for less elegant, more a rugged yet still clean in-between.

Gold Lovers-
Will be looking for a set in replacement of my 17"s in the near future. Like most people's thoughts, GOLD on a Subaru, we can't go wrong, whether we're white, black, or WRB.
