I was wondering if anyone here has installed an after market ignition system and how it helped with response, power, and gas mileage.

View Full Version : Anyone install aftermarket Ignition System? explosivo 04-03-2008, 08:26 PM I was wondering if anyone here has installed an after market ignition system and how it helped with response, power, and gas mileage. WgnWheel 04-04-2008, 03:13 AM not I, but after Goodspeed gets their dyno in, we're gonna test out the plasma direct system on my wagon. MrMcCrackin 04-04-2008, 11:35 AM ^^ smokin hotttttttttttttttttttt explosivo 04-04-2008, 04:07 PM Cool. I hope it helps. My friend has a mazdaspeed3 who said that someone in their forums installed the plasma direct plugs and then took it to a dyno. Dude got worse performance from plasma direct plugs. My friend is going to try to find the thread for me. WgnWheel 04-04-2008, 06:44 PM yeah, i don't know. i've looked up some results and they were all favorable. generally in the 5whp gain. more importantly, i want a better spark for my stroker motor at high rpms. explosivo 04-04-2008, 07:47 PM Damn man, check this out. I just read this in Modified magazine. http://www.pulstarplug.com/ Modified tested them in a 350Z with 1200 miles on it. They saw gains of 10.4 WHP and 7.2 TQ. Amazing for a plug, and they cost 25 bucks each! bobturismo 04-07-2008, 05:32 AM ^ but how long do they last? You can get a set of bosch platnum +4 and they'll scream, for about a month. WgnWheel 04-07-2008, 03:28 PM doesnt pulstar state they are not for high heat apps? especially if used in any form of racing. i wouldn't put them in a suby. maybe my fit or titan to see if they improve gas mileage. cool concept though.
