Slowboy 04-04-2008, 04:51 PM So we have about $7k ish retail in parts into the car - we want to know your opinions as to what we should spend the other $3000 on!
A few things that it definately needs is rotors/pads - so we will probably go DBA/Hawk - but we are open to suggestions!!
I will post up some more pics as soon as it is cleaned off - just got it back from painting skirts/rear lip!
DoctorNick 04-04-2008, 06:17 PM Nice lil build up there. I would suggest:
Kartboy short shifter/TIC bushings.
Rotors/Pads/SS lines
and good tires.
mxpunk 04-05-2008, 02:23 AM built heads, high revs!
jeffb006 04-05-2008, 09:41 AM That is definately in the works for the future!! But right now we are trying to not crack the motor open yet!
maybe a methanol injection kit? possibly some wider oem gears or ra gears if its the tiny width gears of an 02.
pads/stainless braided lines. better tires?
whats it going to be used for?
elusiv 04-06-2008, 04:28 AM I dunno. I'd be royally pissed if I only got 258/253 on a 16G. Surely there is room for more?
jeffb006 04-06-2008, 10:44 AM When you think about it - it baselined at 160/180 and the only power adders we put on were a turbo, exhaust and a fmic (dont gain hp by doing a fpr kit or fuel rails etc)- gained 100whp and 70tq just swapping those 3 things - I'm the one that drives the car around - it drives pretty nice!
I think its misleading because most people dont realize a bone stock 2002 bug dynos as low as 160hp at the wheels
But to answer your question - yes there is room for more - we arent putting the most agressive tune we can on it because the car is driven daily

Yes, but my baselines were 170/170 and at stage 2 I mate 247/243. Hence my concern.
Slowboy 04-07-2008, 08:55 AM So would people agree to brakes, meth kit, wheels/tires?
We are going to let you guys decide so pipe up if you have some thoughts!
Chad W 04-07-2008, 11:23 AM In keeping with the budget mindedness of the project why not do Legacy GT front brakes and h6 rears. Another $50 or so will get you get some caliper paint (go black) to keep it looking nice. OEM rotors would be fine in this application...of course you'll need some decent 17's to clear them...why not 06-07 Wrx stockers or LGT stockers with some nice sticky rubber?
Slowboy 04-07-2008, 12:07 PM I was looking at the calipers the other day and they looked a little bit grubby - not a bad idea at all
Slowboy 04-07-2008, 01:08 PM More PICS!!
