so i had a big boost leak about a week ago which got fixed. they just replaced the stock intercooler hose and the shop said ya your boosting correctly now according to their boost gauge.

btw: 07wrx tr, tbe helix

after the shop fix the leak, i went to stage two right away with cobb ap
they also did the pill modd for me.

now that im driving it, i used the ap to check the boost. i dont boost until 3k and i only get 10k max.

fine line imports said that its because i had a exhaust leak from my bellmouth of the dp and the bottom of it.
they said if i fix that i should be boosting at the correct 15psi.

is that true?

another question is why do i start feeling only 5psi of boost at 3k when i usually feel it at like 2200 before the dp?

does the exhaust leak make that much difference? or is it the ap?

for an exhaust leak to affect boost, it must be before the turbo.

the downpipe is after the turbo.

ya thats what i told fine line imports but there like no we fixed your exhaust leak. according to their boost gauge everything is perfect
but according to the boost gauge on the ap i boost 5psi at 3k on a td04
it doesnt make sense to me.

now their like o lets get a tune. im like i dont need a tune now to fix this leak

Hello Patrick,

I think I came across wrong or you mis understood me. I said fix the exhaust leaks first to get a solid base (no leaks). Then proceed with the boost problem. The next step would be to change the pills around until you are hitting your boost target (around 15 psi). If you are going to use the Cobb Tuning base map, then the only way to change boost is with the pills. I installed the Cobb Tuning pill that there map was made for.

I hope this makes sense. If not, please let me know and I will explain in detail.
