hi guys ive heard that a stage 4 rex runs hotter and need like 10 w40 oil.
do you guys think castrol 10w30 or 40 GTX non synthetic will be best for a rex with about 90k for this coming summer?

castrol german is what i have heard is good for the wrx..i personally run m1 10w30, (101K) and i am about to switch over to 2qt of 15w50, and 3qt of 5w30....supposed to be a good 40w oil...but this topic is all over the place, search for it...it also bepends on where u live and how u drive....

Another candidate for Shell Rotella Synthetic 5w-40, $4/qt at Wal-Mart and track-proven.

Definitely don't run GTX 10W40. There was a Forester XT owner that ran it and it always sheared to a 30 weight in less than 4,000 miles.
Are you running conventional oil in a stage IV bugeye?!?? I think I would use Rotella conventional 15W40. For synthetic GC might be ok, but I would probably go with RTS that Mr. Wilson recommended.
I'm very proud of the two first posters. No flames on this question which will get asked an additional 78,245 times in the next two months. :D
