Either way, I like how the GT-R somehow managed to blow the doors off the LP640 on the last leg of the last lap :rolleyes:

Its a little funny to see the LP640 hit the brakes at the end of the final lap n let the gtr pass... not that the GTR didnt do a facinating job of catching up.. its truly a beast..

^^ I was amused as well. Two laps earlier same straight the GT-R driver was shaking the wheel for speed as he lost ground to the LP640. But through the corners the GT-R was definately shrinking/maintaining the gap the corner exit speed is amazing.

The Exige got the launch.. and thus.. all the bragging rights in my book. ;) I love that he short-shifted 1st gear on his launch and still pulled away from them.

This isn't a secret, the 911 Turbo is slightly faster straight-line than the GT-R at speed. It's in the corners that the GT-R eats it up.

Regarding the Lambo, yeah either the driver gave it up or botched his exit on the final turn there. I'm guessing he threw it because the final turn on that track isn't easy to screw up. The fact that the GT-R could catch it speaks miles though, he would have passed eventually anyway.

For those thinking it's iffy that the GT-R passed the Lambo on the last straight, the Lamo driver said something along the lines of he's out of gas or he had some kind of fuel cut around the last corner. I don't think it would have lost otherwise.

I was saying it's iffy how the GT-R passed the Lambo. The GT-R was running faster; it definitely would have legitimately passed the Lambo at some point, given another lap or two. It just looked forced with the Lambo suddenly slowing down right before the finish. If the Lambo driver had some fuel problems, most of us didn't understand that since we don't speak Japanese.

Regardless, what I said holds true: The GT-R would have eventually passed. It’s unsurprising the GT-R can catch an LP640, especially on a short track like Tsukuba. The GT-R’s handling/exit speed is outrageous, and Lambo’s are not tuned to be track cars.

yah I wasnt saying the GTR is a better handler, I was just making an observation.

The Murcei's are pigs in the corners for what they are.
