Ok... I bought a cheap crappy pair on ebay a while ago to try out... 8k's.... HORRIBLE decision... so I am going out and getting a good pair this time...

Here lies my question...

I have read TONS of threads and found tons of 'good' types and vendors... Which ones seem to be the best? I have read so many that I can't keep them straight!!

My initial idea was to go with ProLumen's. They have a special right now at bavtoys.com where you can buy one pair for 250 bucks and get a pair free... for your fogs... I am thinking 3ks for the fogs... or if not... getting a yellow foglight bulb... say piaa ion crystals... anyone have any idea on yellow foglight bulbs if i decide on a bulb not hid for the fogs??

I think I have narrowed my opinion to wanting 5000k's... I have looked and looked... and I really wouldn't mind the small blue hue that some of the bmw's and other european cars have... but I think that I want 5ks... 6ks still have a little too much blue in them... maybe there is something in between 5ks and 6ks... that has mostly white with just a hint of blue??

So that was my initial decision... ProLumen's ftw... heck of a deal for two sets of HIDs for 250 bucks... But now as I look more... I see other ones sometimes having better reputations... say Phillips... and Mcclulloh (sp?)... and I am completely confused on what brand seems to be the best...

Can ANYONE point me in the right direction?? Any opinions on these or any other brands... or places to buy??

since you have an 06 i would strongly reccommend a tsx retrofit using oem bulbs and ballasts, but with budget concerns and a pnp kit, lightwerkz will steer you in the right direction

With an 06 you have H7 lights, so instead of buying someone's "kit" of dubious quality you can get OEM-grade HID components- D2S 4300K bulbs and standard Hella or Phillips ballasts. The D2S bulbs will fit directly into your H7 lights with a cheap set of adapter rings (readily available on Ebay and from various vendors).
The results will still not be as optimal as true OEM HIDs such as a set of STi lights or a full retrofit, but they will be far better than what you'd get from an aftermarket setup with rebased bulbs plus you will have zero trouble sourcing replacement parts in the future should you need them.

5000K or 6000K are very popular color temps. i would recommend apexcone from xenonexpert.com. i have had them since november and love them. they are $150 + $70 for lifetime warranty.
