Wrx_Fan_0717 06-02-2008, 12:32 AM Hey brotha how and where do i pay for the TGV deletes?
Beautiful work. If it looks half as good as the displayed TGV's i am game to buy a set right now.
Also, the coating. Why, or would it really help anything or is it more of a appearance thing?
I know the TGV area gets hot but wouldn't a coating retain heat rather than disperse? Or am i retarded?
***Edit: And the intake mani i wan tone of those too. Better have them in stock.
Wrx_Fan_0717 06-02-2008, 12:48 AM F-it the TB too.
I will just call you guys tomorrow.

In all honesty the throttle body doesnt get much larger for say, it just smooths it out, eliminates the small step inside.
Right now we can have everything shipped out in less then 5 days. Shipping would be about $10
Feel free to pm me if you have any more questions or hit us up on AIM

Nexus_One 06-09-2008, 11:16 PM Does the ceramic coating really help much on the TGV deletes and throttle body?
Computergeek24 06-10-2008, 01:22 PM Update on my Chimera Ported VF43!
Just had it tuned yesterday (dyno was kind of a low reader) and here are the results!
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Computergeek24/vf43.jpg
For a 2.0 making that much power, this think is a speedy spooling monster. I am VERY pleased with the work that was done to it!
Next up on the plate (after I take care of some suspension work :D) will be TGV deletes, ported intake manifold and ported TB.
Thanks again guys!

I got the TGVs and Intake Mani and i agree completely.
The TGV's look as if they were made with no hole. Ported to perfection. The Subaru specific store that installed them were equally impressed.
Big thumbs up to them.
Also, i PM'd you guys about something. ;)

Chimera Performance 07-17-2008, 02:37 PM hey how long would i have to wait to get a TGV, intake manifold, and throttle body all ceramic coated for a 02 wrx if i pay the core deposit charges on all
If you ordered asap it would be about a week because we dont keep ceramic coated parts in stock. But FYI we are on our last wrx TGV and have a few people interested. We are looking for more though.
rxer311 07-18-2008, 07:42 PM Got my exhaust manifold today! I am very pleased. I took it down to the guys at CBRD speedfactory who does the tuning on my car, and they also liked the work. I really wasn't expecting much out of the X-over pipe but it is also ported to the size of the collector pipes. This will flow MUCH better!
I was thinking of getting an aftermarket X pipe but I don't think I will be needing it after seeing this set. I might spend the extra cash from that on some TGV deletes!
Anybody know the difficulty of installing TGV deletes on the STi and is it easy to screw up? I have done all the exhaust and suspension work on my car so far so I wouldn't think so. Also will the car throw a CEL with a TGV delete or would I need to get the code turned off? Thanks!
Thank you CHIMERA!!!
Chimera Performance 07-18-2008, 08:07 PM No problem! PM'd

$199.99 + optional $49.99 ceramic coating on hotside + shipping
We do not keep turbos in stock normally. Right now the only turbo we have is a VF34 which has been ported. So unless someone wants to buy that they would have to send us their own turbo.

How much is shipping to 22304?
How much does the package weigh? To estimate return shipping of the core.

you should be able to get the little studs thru the dealership. The nuts you will be able to get at your local hardware store, but the studs i doubt they would have.

Sorry to be such a noob to this, but how exactly does this work? Say if I wanted to get my TGVs ported, it would cost me $140 + (depending on coating). And I get $130 back for sending you mine? This sounds too good to be true. Please elaborate. Sorry, but I haven't ever had anything ported so I don't know how this process works. Thanks.

I'd say you pay 270, and when you send your core back you get 130 refunded.
I'm about to bite the bullet and get a set.

If you pay for us to send out one of our already ported tgv sets to you, it would be $149.99 for the port work. Plus $130 for our core. We make you pay for the core just in case you dont send it back. Then once we get your stock tgvs back we will refund you the $130.

FFPerformance 10-31-2008, 07:40 PM Have a Q for the porting guys, what effect will your porting in the exducer bore have on turbo performance? The two pictures you have on the first page show a significant added clearance from turbine exducer tip to wall. And it doesn't look uniform on the waste gate side? Just curious.

fobiawrx 11-02-2008, 04:11 AM and yes seriously? should i go around finding grimmspeed stuff that was done wrong in the past just to start crap with you guys? you already made a crap name for yourself locally, you would think you would keep it out of here....
those pics were used as examples of what they port and was and were test pieces of when they started to port turbos. things have changed sense then on how and what they port on them.
we can ramble on about how you think you eying up the head ports on your head port jobs and all the other bs that was talked about on the other site but lets keep this one clean. stay out of chimera threads and we will stay out of yours.

I have no affiliation with Grimmspeed. I actually am moving into a shop in Pylmouth and last time I checked, GS is in St. Paul...
This was aimed at getting information from Chimera Performance, not you, are you affiliated with them? If so how? If you are in the know, and are familiar with the physics involved with turbo technology then please share your thoughts. If you don't have any official affiliation, please wait until chimera posts up to clarify this for me as I am not interested in your opinion.
My question was not aggressive in nature. I was asking for them to explain, hell, to make a sales pitch for their work if they are so proud of it.
You stated that things have changed since these were taken. What has changed, and if the have indeed changed, where are the updated pics?
fobiawrx 11-03-2008, 10:53 PM i believe the member was talking to chimera not you fobia, but thank you for your input.
secondly, what do we have to do with this post at all.
Well i am helping them out right now, Is that ok? Bob posts under your screen name on other forums, how is he not affiliated with you on here? whats different? Its funny how this has nothing to do you with you, when i make one comment in here and two of your employees pm me harrasing me about my post. I responded to your employees via pm with a more through answer, so talk to them if you have any more questions. until then stop trying stir the pot and bennifit from this. But thats just you, so its expected....
fobiawrx 11-03-2008, 11:11 PM I have no affiliation with Grimmspeed.

Well I just explained some in the above post but you can say im affiliated but not technicly. and you not being affiliated with grimmspeed is news to me. last time I heard from you you were posting under there name for them on things they know nothing about. So you can see how I thought you would still be in cahoots with them. It also seems fishy that you need to even ask about porting when you have been doing it for them and yourself for a while? So with that aside and to further answer your question quickly, i have been working with them on these things and like i said to the grimmspeed staff in pms that this was a older pic from when they were testing to see how to get the least amount of turbulance out out of a crappy internal wates gated housing when you go external. They no longer round the edge or touch any thing that is withen the ehaust wheel area because its just not worth the risks. my .02 is just go bigger with the turbo and use header design to make more power and spool. ;)
FFPerformance 11-04-2008, 01:47 PM Fobia, I don't work at Grimmspeed. Period. I am a separate entity all together and focus on porting in other markets. I did agree to work with Grimmspeed to help them develop a few head port profiles for their use. At that time, they did not have the technical expertise needed to answer your questions and I was asked to respond to them in the forum you are referencing.
Out of the many ways I approached asking these questions in my first post in this thread, how am I stirring the pot? I asked for technical explanation for their porting decisions. Not in a demeaning manor, with no harshness at all. Just looking for facts and and explanation. You for some reason get uber defensive when something is questioned for some reason. Don't get riled up, just do your best to answer the question because if you are affiliated with Chimera, the last thing you would want to do would be to come off as aggressive, harsh, or derogatory to another forum member when we all know that makes said company looked down upon. I didn't see the supporting vendor tag on your name so I assumed you were not working with them. What is it that you do for them? Porting, sales, fab work?
Short and long, I don't care about mud slinging, or what GS things of Chimera's work. Or what you think my motives are or what you think of me. What I do care about is getting the 'why' on something that I see that isn't the norm. Make sense? Let's not waste our time with all the fuss and just stick to the question in my first post in this thread.
Chimera Performance 11-04-2008, 10:47 PM Bob,
We tested out a few different ways to port the turbo. We wanted to know what was best. Like Fobia said, we wanted to try out something different from what everyone else was doing. It did not work out for the better, but now we are more knowledgeable because of that. We have not taken a new pic because all of our turbo orders ship out as soon as we get them done. I will be sure to get updated pics for you Bob. Also yes Fobia does help us out, the same way you help out grimmspeed. i have been informed by Nick that I will not be talking to you anymore on here so take it to pms.

I did send a pm with more details for you.
There was no malice behind my questions. I am an industry professional and was curious about your porting decisions. I do not have any affiliation with Grimmspeed. No more so than I do with you guys. Afterall, have I not shared porting tips, tricks, and advice with you before you were Chimera Performance?
Respectfully,
Bob
