View Full Version : AMR Build: Performance Chemicals, LLC. 2006 Subaru STi - 800+whp - MONSTER BUILD!

AMR
04-29-2008, 05:40 PM
Year: 2006
Vehicle: Subaru
Model: STi

Notes:

This vehicle belongs to Michael R. Currier president of Performance Chemicals, LLC. Like most of our corporate builds, the company's 2006 Subaru STi has only one goal and that is to RACE.

We at AMR have put together this journal/step-by-step build to show the NASIOC members/public what it takes to make true power and for those who are drag racers, what is needed to lay down that low sec E.T. and high MPH in a quarter mile. Unlike some of our corporate company builds who like to keep things hush hush. Performance Chemicals, LLC. have given us the okay to put together this write up.

^^ they also have two other high speed fans on the ground that you cannot see. Big one in the middle, two smaller on the sides.

Update:

The engine is out of the vehicle!

http://www.automasterofwestchester.com/aux/Oldengine.jpg

The engine is currently getting broken down. We are cleaning up the entire engine bay to make some room for the build. As you can see from the picture, neither the turbo kit nor motor will suite the objective.

How was the car running on the magnus intake mani? I've heard some good/bad things about their manifold. Will the new build retain the same manifold or are you guys going with something different?

Any chance you guys could post a mod list of what we shoudl expect with this build or will that be posted step by step as the build goes on?

Thanks,

-Greg

Greg,

The magnus manifold is a good piece but to make the type of power this company wants the manifold will not do. We have certain style manifolds that we have tested over the years that will suite this project perfectly. The step by step build will include pics, videos and text (which will include a mod list).

Guys,

We started working on this bad boy. We ripped down the motor and the vehicle to the bare minimum. And threw in some extras. The pictures explain it all.

No it looks like it sits inside of the hood scoop. Got place to put it to keep it cool. but I would put some heat transfer tape on the bottom of it so you don't burn up the paint.

sweet build

Is there a list with mods actually on it? I am working on my build for my legacy gt wagon right now. And I could use some ideas. I like the idea of the turbo right up top.

Track Video:

YouTube - 2006 Subaru STi - 10.54 @ 143mph - Bad Bog - 31psi

Thoughts:

For the public, this is not our vehicle. This is our customers. Another vehicle traps over 140mph+.

The video pretty much explains the day

Exedy Twin disk lasted 1 pass. First pass launch control set at 4800rpm for testing. Bogged bad. Second pass raised the launch control to 5800rpm. Ate the clutch! Same problem our 2008 Subaru STi had. Just shows at 600whp on our dyno, 31psi, exedy twin disk = no good!

Boost was 31psi, car made 630whp at that boost level, which is in the video, ran 143mph. So the 143mph shows the 630whp. The car is tuned for 40psi.

We are putting in a triple disk in the car!

Still not impressed. I went 9.90 with a 4g63 35r on 31psi 601hp. Maybe throw some drag radials on it and get someone that knows how to drive.

Thats a 4G63.

I will take trapping 143mph with a 10.54 on a bad day with a bog with a Subaru any day of the week. But to each-his-own.

Drivers not the problem. The car will go 9s next time out.

All turbo? your making alot of power seems you should not be bogging. leaving on a 2step? also becareful with the exedy twin disk they are very very harsh on gears

2 Step was set at 4800rpm. Due to street tires we did not know how much bite it would have. I state all this information in the video.

As far as the clutch, at this power level, exedy twin disc's do not hold up.

We only used it due to the customer already having the clutch.
