If they stay on for an extended period of time, they have the potential to stick to paint and take some of it with them too. Subaru paint is fragile enough as it is!!

Magnetics aren't that bad if you do the following.

Throughly clean them and the car before applying them.

Don't get huge ones that will weigh enough to shift down when you hit a bump.

Don't leave them on any longer than you have to.

Put them on and if it isn't lined up right, don't slide it, take it off and put it back on again.

Be careful.. and I understand the advantages of magnetics. Some of us don't want to be flashy on the street, just at the track.
