I got all excited about everyone getting their car dynoed lately so I called Altered Atmosphere in Gaithersburg MD (Phone 301.330.8835) to set up an appointment. No appointment was necessary. They told me I could come in this afternoon if I wanted (Heart Pounding and mouth salivating).

So I asked them if they could help me tune my car and they said yes. They said I could get up to 4 runs an hour. Then I asked them how much it cost to use the dyno for 1 hour. $235.00 http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/eek.gif You can imagine how I felt after that. *sigh* AWD dynos are expensive. I just wish it was between $85.00 to $100.00. Man...this hurts. I don't know when I'll get up to it now.

Does anyone here know of any secret discounts I can get to have these runs cheaper at this place?

hm, yeah - that's expensive. but then, they kind of have a lock on the market since they're the only ones who have the AWD dyno..

to put things in perspective, I converted my car to RWD for $125. So if you're just going for one hour of dyno time (and I think you'd need more if you really plan to tune the car...), I'd say their price is fair (125 for RWD conversion + 100 regular 2-wheel dyno rate).

However, if you're going to spend a lot of on the dyno - I did 14 pulls over 4 hours to tune my TEC-II... (although I got an amazing dyno rate so it wasn't nearly as expensive as you think) then I'm glad I did the conversion in order to save myself the expense of driving to MD and paying such a high dyno rate.

You have an auto, just dyno your car in FWD.
