I have a 6MT swap in my 98 WRX, but I am not sure if the box have 1.1:1 transfer or 1:1, the transmission code is TY856WN4MA, the rear diff now is 3.54.

yes, 38410AA080 is the same part # as the USDM STI's 04/05 and JDM 03/05 dccd boxes
