got a 2003 wrx wagon with a dead motor, anybody got something that'll fit? not really looking to upgrade just want it back on the road.

How dead is your motor? I have one that I pulled out of my car a few months ago. It ran, but had low compression in cyl 4.

dead dead. dead like disco, dead like you put a wrench on the crank pulley and it doesn't move either way. pretty sure the timing belt broke. what do you have and what do you want for it?

I've got the stock motor out of my 2004 WRX. It has ~85k miles on it, low compression in cyl 4. The walls still look good and it still spins freely, so you could likely drop in a new set of pistons and call it a day. I am asking $200, but I can be flexible especially if I can avoid shipping it.

is it the complete motor or just the shortblock? we haven't pulled the motor yet but i'm pretty sure the heads aren't going to be a happy place. i'd be down to pick it up, where are you?

It is an assembled short block. I'm in southwest Houston.

I also have a WRX 2.0. It doesn't have low compression on any cylinder and has no knock. I pulled it from my running 03 wagon.

I am in San Antonio and the SB is already on the engine stand. I have pictures of it in the national FS forums somewhere.

post it up in the texas forum! i'd have bought it if i knew you had it, exactly what i needed. i did a search in texas classifieds but i needed something quick and butterz got back to me first. if his doesn't work out i'll get ahold of you, we're going to put heads on it and do a leakdown test this week
