Butterz 05-31-2008, 10:42 AM I've got a "crushed" STI bypass valve, but I'm also in Houston. $40 shipped? blakkboxer 06-01-2008, 11:35 AM bumpttt. bugeyed bandit 06-01-2008, 12:42 PM wtf is a "crushed" sti bpv? sounds to me like it aint worth crap if its crushed lmao Defiant Autospeed 06-01-2008, 02:05 PM supposedly the sti one holds boost better.....that is what ive heard..... It doesnt, its identical. (same exact part) The JDM STI valve on the other hand, at least the V7, which is internally set up just like the "16c bov mod", holds boost much better. I would question however, the "running rich" statement. Unless the valve is leaking, a lot, its not possible for the valve to affect the A/F at any point other than a SPLIT second after it vents. Are you having a specific problem with it? blakkboxer 06-01-2008, 02:56 PM It doesnt, its identical. Are you having a specific problem with it? i think its the return valve thats sealed off (right under the bov) with some plastic piece just stuck into there w/o any zip tie or anything. i think thats where the leak is comin from with my aftermarket bov i have on at the moment. or somewhere in the intake. bugeyed bandit 06-01-2008, 02:58 PM yea keith @ awd tuning said its running too rich to compensate for a leak somewhere.... he is running one of the cheap 30 dollar bovs off ebay so thats more than likely where its coming from. Butterz 06-01-2008, 09:31 PM wtf is a "crushed" sti bpv? sounds to me like it aint worth crap if its crushed lmao Sometimes the stock bypass valves will begin to open during high boost. You can "crush" (hammer a small dimple in the cap of the valve) the valve to compress the spring a bit enabling it to hold more boost. n00b.
