there is a fuse, or used to be, that was for rear illumination in the cabin. if all else fails check all the fuses. i know there is one for the tail lights.

Check fuse 12 and also the taillight relay. Also see if the switch on top of the column works.

I have a 2007 WRX and today out of the blue my tail lights, 3rd eye, and wing light all stopped working at once. I checked the owners manual and all fuses are good.

I then followed the brake pedal up to a black harness with 4 cables plugged into it. I jiggled the wires and had my buddie watch from the back of the car and the lights where flickering on and off. I unplugged the harness and it looked brand new so I snugged the wires from the female end of the harnesss in tighter, tested and all tail lights came on for 2 pumps of the brake then the tail lights stopped working again..

Any Ideas? Am I missing anything?

Thanks!

your fuse for your tail lights is behind your changer holder on your driver side dash.
i ran into the same promblem about 4months ago.
you got a main fuse box under the hood and you got one behind the change holder.
hope that helps.

It sounds like you have a loose connection, possibly a bad ground, in the connector you pulled apart. If you can't locate it your warranty should cover this problem.

Thank you.. There is actually a switch within the harness that is right above the brake pedal. The dealership is trying to track down a part number to order me a new one.. I will keep you guys posted

It was the brake switch, the dealer replaced and my brakes are now working..!

I'm having this problem now. I uninstalled my amplifier and thought everything was good until a guy pulled up next to me and said my rear driving lights weren't working and only illuminated when my brakes were on. I'm going to check everything in the morning. Anything it could be besides fuse or loose connection?
