O2 Sensor Circuit
Range / Performance
High 1 (bank 1 sensor 1)

I got a set of maddad headers & uppipe combo installed. We had some rubbing issues on the frame so we had to drive the car around a lot until we finally figured out how much to trim off the subframe.

I drove home and my gas light came on. stopped for gas and put 1/4 tank of gas. as soon as i pulle out of the station got a cel + cruise blink. I drove 2 blocks to the next gas station and got a full tank.

drove home a couple of miles and readed the code with the AP. The car feels normal. Idles fine, I checked the top IC hoses and don't see anything loose.

Mods:
Cobb TBE catted. walbro. running OTS stage 2 for 93 gas. no turbo heat shield since somehow a bracket that held it broke off.

I reset the code and started the car up. idled it for about 5 minutes and the cel didn't come back. I don't really want to drive it too much, problem is I have a protune appointment friday and gotta drive it 200 miles to the tuner.

some folks are telling me my 02 sensor had it and should replace it. Did anybody have a similar problem and did replacing the 02 sensor helped? Thanks.

I had a similar problem (the 1153) after installing Perrin EL headers. I damaged the B1S1 O2 sensor while taking it out to remove the old manifold and thought that a new O2 would fix the problem. No go on that one. Cosmetic damage to the O2 sensor only. Then took everything back apart (which doesnt take that long). Turns out I had exhaust leaks at the drivers side head to header flange. Fairly evident once I took the gaskets out and inspected them. Ended up reinstalling everything, making sure everything was torqued propery, driving and getting up to full temp, then retorquing the header bolts again once the car cooled down to ambient temp. Since I have done this I have not had the CEL come back.

CN: Make sure you don't have an exhaust leak.

thanks. I'll try that. I ordered a new sensor just in case.

is it possible the the increased flow of exhaust air is overwhelming the sensor and causing the cel? What I mean is, is the problem the headers and not the sensor?

I know these headers are used by many of you, which leads me to belive that's not the case...and some of you run large turbos on catless setups with that sensor which I bet flow way more air faster pass that sensor than my catted vf39.

can something like that cause a sensor to fail?

Looks like you messed up the o2 Sensor. That sucks because that's a narrow band and it's spendy.
