Project is on a 2004 STi

I'm finally at a point where I can post up a good thread bout this build that started over 4 months ago. Before I start this is Burnin4's old car, however nothing is the same from that set-up (aside from the block and rims basicly).

Well here is the set-up and story...I've been working on this project for 5 months, originally it was going to be a build i would do later in time but due to a spun rod bearing my build started 4 hrs after i bought the car

The Build Sheet:

ENGINE:
-Axis Stage 5 Block
-Axis Stage 2 Heads
-Kelford 276/276 cams
-Prova Oil re-circulation system
-KAS (Kito Auto Sport) -Pre-production Intake Manifold
-DC Sport Header
-555 Motorsports Prototype Turbo Kit (1st kit for durability telling) w/ GT30R Turbo for comparison testing (THEN Precision Turbo 6262 :) )
-Modified Perrin FMIC kit w/ blow-thru MAF set-up
-Deastch Werks 1100 CC injectors
-Aeromotive Fuel Rails with custom parallel fuel system
-Aeromotive FPR
-Dual in-tank Walbro 255 set-up
-1 step colder spark plugs
-HKS Twin-spark (iginition amplifier)

Drivetrain:
-Stock 2006 STi transmission and rearend
-DSS Stage 5 rear axles & hubs
-HKS Twin-plate clutch

Suspension:
-BC Racing Coilovers (More Adjustability than stock, but still not done yet)
-Perrin Front and Rear sway bars and Endlinks
-Cusco Front and Rear strut tower bars
-Kartboy "botox bolts"
-HKS Rear Camber bolts

Accessories:
-Defi Gauge set-up (Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, Fuel Pressure, EGT)
-AEM Uego Air Fuel Ratio Gauge
-AVCR Boost controller
-HKS Type 1 Turbo Timer (Special Edition BLACK)

The car will start off on the stock ECU then from there I will probably upgrade to a Motec or Hydra 2.6 depending on what route we go with this car.

The goal of this car is a street trim car that is very capable and competitive on the track (both road course and drag racing).

There is something about a car that looks fairly stock and is a joy to drive that really gets going and has the spirit of a race car.

It's going to be my daily driver, and as soon as this project is done we will start the build on a FULL race trim car.

I will have dyno numbers and comparisons here shortly to show the gains and potential of this set-up with the newly developed parts.

The engine bay is a little bit of a mess still, i'm working on running all the lines and organizing everything, we just got the car to this point in the past few days

what happen to the dogbox?

The dogbox is in a drag setup car that I am working with a good friend and customer on helping get finished. The stock 6 spd is a little better for road racing, the dogbox does have nice ratios but they are a little better for straightline

Wait - it has a motor again!!! Car looks really good. I am definately looking forward to seeing/hearing this car in person. That clutch looks beefy. The port work looks nice on it too. I really like the way the 555MS turbo kit turned out. Looks like you found a great spot to drop that turbo in ;). As for the intake manifold - it looks even more massive now that it's on the car.

The car definately has a sleeper look to it. I see that you kept the factory options too (AC, PS, sprayer, battery location, ect.) But I did notice you relocated some of the sensors/controllers and wiring... You plan on cleaning up the engine bay any more?

Over all - looks better now than it ever did. I'm glad that you got all of the problems taken care of, and I am more than willing to bet that it will last more than 4 hours of running now.

Yep, almost everything is together. I love the clutch, if you feel the pedal it feels like stock, its great. I will have some good pics of the 555 Motorsports Turbo kit when I have done my dyno testing ;)

I kept all the factory stuff, stereo, AC, PS, and everything...Aside from the huge turbo and KAS manifold it looks fairly like subaru had it. I will be cleaning up the engine bay more, i'm just going to have to get creative with all the hose and vacuum line. To run everything properly does take a lot of hose for the PCV system.

Thanks for the compliments Dustin...here is a nice before and after :)

BEFORE:

AFTER:

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o266/mxturboracer86/P7030362.jpg

-I still have some cleaning up to do under the manifold to make things look cleaner, but i definitely like the look of the new engine bay more myself...along with the ability to have all my accessories including windshield washers ;)

Notice a few things:
-I/C piping doesnt go over the turbo,
-the turbo sits down lower and looks a little more stealth

There has been quite a bit of R&D into this manifold, to make sure the flow and quality is up to or even better than that of the competition, I will have some dyno numbers when the motor is broken in with the 555 Motorsports GT30R kit and KAS Manifold and you guys can judge for yourself

as soon as she's broken in then I'll see what it can do...Might play with some q16

The car is running, it has a small oil leak from the dipstick, i'll have to check, if the engine/machine shop didn't install the o-ring or just didn't put enough sealant for the oil pan gasket.

Everything else is good, the only thing left is to get it tuned and ready to roll once I changed the oil and fix the leak

P.S.- I HAD TO RUN STOCK FUEL RAILS :(

Heads up for those interested, the car will be going up for sale after all testing is done of the new products. Still breaking the motor in and getting ready for the real turbo to go on.

I will be starting a new project once this car is sold involving a GC chassis. I'm toying with a few new ideas, one of which hasn't been done in any subaru to my knowledge :)
