Well I have a new group buy going. This is going to be for my top-of-the-line shift knobs, the HYBRIDS. These are made with a stainless steel base section with steel threads to screw directly onto your shift lever. The top part of the knob is made from acetal copolymer (white or black), that fabulous material that wont ever burn or freeze your hand like metal knobs do.

I am offering a couple styles of the knobs right now, with various types of options available for a small extra charge. Below, the basic shape of the knob is kept constant. There are several options and costs for them, with examples in the pictures. Any combination of options can be chosen. This knob has a recess under it to fit low over the shift lever and clear the reverse ring. Height is 3.0" tall overall to fit your whole hand around.

This knob looks identical to the STi Piston above, but it includes a boot lip to hold up your shift boot. Overall height is 3.0" + 0.4" for shift boot lip.

- Wide or narrow grooves cut into the sphere, at any location and pattern (+$15)
- Burnt bronze steel part (+$30)


This knob is a CAD sketch, which includes a boot lip to hold up your shift boot. Overall height is 3.0" including the shift boot lip.

I got one from him and I love it, but i have to drive with a mech glove on most days when I get in the car between the times of 1130-6pm becuase its so hot. But then im in el paso and its normally about 95-105 right now...

The metal knobs offer a feel that nothing else can match in terms of weight and solid-ness during a shift, but heat/cold issues are the price you pay for that.
What I am trying to do with my Hybrid knobs is offer a middle ground where the steel bottom provides more weight than any solid copolymer or solid aluminum knobs can offer in that size, but the copolymer top section wont burn or freeze your hand. Its a best-of-both-worlds type of knob (although not as heavy as the solid steel ones). Plus they just look awesome.

In terms of customization, if you're willing to pay for the labor, and I can do what you ask, YOU WILL GET IT. That is a huge advantage over mass-produced products where they wont waste time changing things for one customer.

this is a great design and i'd love to get one, but the price just kills it. for comparison i got my ARC knob for $85, i just cant justisfy spending $100+ on this knob :(
