I recently installed a Defi gauge package on my 07 STI and initially installed the link box with the ignition wire connected to the A/C green/red tracer. After this, the fan didnt work - I thought I cut the wires with the solderless connector, I took it out today and I hadnt cut the wire, also, I swapped the ign wire over to the green/orange tracer. Any idea what I should check?

fuses?

I checked almost all the fuses in the fuse box under the hood infront of the driver, nothing blown.

hmmm 99% of the time its a fuse i prolly shorted something out. re look at it otherwise wait for more responses

Are there any other fuses then the ones under the hood near the battery?

i think for the hvac its under the dash, ifi remember its one to the top row, just chk the diagram on the back of the tray and itll tell u which is for which. maybe you didnt see that the fuse was popped and put it back in, i did that once but then then re checked it

Checked fan blower 1 and 2 fuse and both look ok. Any other possibilities?

Are there any wiring diagrams available? Id like to whip out the MM and start checking things.

Ive checked the 2 plugs on the back of the HVAC controls, they are both in. Any idea where the fan blower is located?

Try fuse left side near drivers door. Fan located on passanger side behind glove box.

Yeah I checked the 2 fan blower fuses near the drivers door. in a few minutes Im going to check all fuses. Is there a resistor that I might have cooked that does fan control? or a relay?

I think the fans are controlled by the ECU via a coolant temp sensor tied to the ECU also.

Are you talking about the HVAC fan, or the engine fan?

Hey man i dont know if the 07 is close to my 02 but when you said the green red wire it kinda does but any way for my car the blower motor is controlled through the ground by a risistor pack that is behind the glove box in the air ducts (for cooling purposes). what i would do is pull the glove box out and get to the blower motor there should only be two wires (ground and power) now on my car that motor should always get power when the blower speeds are selected if it doesnt have any power then its either a fuse or the blower motor relay. if it does have power then check the ground.
