I have a 2002 WRX, and I just did the fog light mod which is supposed to keep the foglights on with the highbeams on. I followed this:

http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1022

and my foglights do not stay on with my highbeams. They do go on with my parking lights, Im not sure if that is anything new. Also the fog light switch is not illuminated at all now. I know there is a note that says the little fog light switch will not illuminate if only the parking light switch is on, but my little fog light switch does not illuminate at all now - no matter what combination it is.

i followed the directions exactly as that thread - i checked the connections a bunch of times and even cut and redid the connections just in case it was a bad connection.

the only thing is, this picture is not what i did: http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1967&d=1071469404 it said to tape off the other end of the green and red wire, and that picture shows it connecting to the new wire? Is that where i went wrong? the instructions clearly say to tape the wire off, and the pictures show the wire taped off.

any help?

I just did this the other day following instructions I found on here. I tapped the orange wire coming from the middle of the back of the fuse box. Then I cut the red/green wire on the 4th relay from the bottom about 3" from the harness. I crimped my wire coming from the orange to the side coming off the relay harness and taped off the other end of the red/green. Works flawlessly w/ highbeams and just parking lights. Maybe you crimped the the wire coming off the orange to the other side of the red/green?

"Find the wire that you spliced between the relay and the fuse panel. Cut the red, with green stripe wire at the back of the fog switch. Connect the switch to the spliced wire, mentioned above. Next, cut the yellow, with blue stripe wire also on the back of the switch. Connect the switch to a ground. Thats it. Now your fogs will work with the high beam, flash to pass, low beams, parking lights, and the parking lights using the switch on the top of the steering column. The indicator light will be on any time that your fog lights are on."

After doing that step (correctly), it works. It should be pasted into both sets of instructions if it is required! but then again everything worked for you without doing this step? strange.

Yeah, that is weird. I didn't touch the yellow/blue wire. Just did what I mentioned above and it worked fine.

I just bought a "Add-A-Circuit" from an auto parts store and tab the power via one of the fuses. As long as your relay pin receives power all the time, your fogs should work as soon as you closed the circuit with your fog light switch (which turns on your fog lights on demand).
