I'm beginning to do searches more often now but it's bugs me to see the first post listed on top and the last post several pages away. Would it be possible to list the post by the earliest date instead of when you started posting? Am I missing a checkbox somewhere that lets me do this? If not, why not have that checkbox plus more filters?

Just noticed the dates are exactly in order too. Hmm, no one is interested in having this feature? Maybe I'm the only one using the search tool.

While we're griping about search tools, there have been so many forum name changes in the past few months, I can never remember the forum where a thread was originally posted.

How about offering a "Search All" feature again, but limiting it to the topical fora (excluding the regional and off-topic ones).

Thanks in advance! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

I think the problem with 'search all' was that it generated too much load on the server. It takes a long time and a lot of clock cycles (relatively) to grind through all of those indices.

I like the speed that the board runs at and would rather be slightly inconvenienced at search time than have the board run slowly.

maybe not search all, but at lease be able to search more than one at a time?

The search feature will become more and more important as the database grows. This is unavoidable. I'm thinking it might be best to "improve" it now rather than waiting for something to happen. Note that improve is in quotes as I'm not entirely sure it does need improving. I'm sastisfy with it now, even without the sorting by date http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif
