Third annual Subiefest to be bigger and better than ever; with live music, on-track test drives of the hot, new 2009 Subaru WRX and the Subiesport all-Subaru Time Attack challenge.

More info: http://www.subiefest.com

Redmond, Washington (PR Web) August 8, 2008 -- Racing enthusiasts mark your calendars to join Subiesport Magazine (http://www.subiesport.com) and NASIOC.com on the weekend of September 6-7 for the largest all-Subaru motorsport event and festival in North America: Subiefest 2008, presented by Subaru of America (http://www.subaru.com) and EDO Performance/Zero Sports (http://www.edoperformance.com).

"We're very excited that Subiefest will be just outside of Los Angeles this year, and that we can be part of it," said Edwin Tang, CEO of EDO Performance/Zero Sports. "We traveled over 1,000-miles to attend the 2007 event, and we've never seen such a dedicated and diverse gathering of car enthusiasts. The 2008 event will be incredible!"

Now in it's third year, the Subiefest all-Subaru Shootout and Showoff will be bigger and better than ever, as it takes over the Big Willow race track at Willow Springs, just outside of Los Angeles, California. For the main event, top tuners from around the country will face off in the Subiesport Time Attack Challenge, pitting highly-modified Subarus against the clock to determine who is the fastest in the land. This is where the talk, and the rubber, meet the road in a challenge for ultimate bragging-rights.

Japanese racing legend Tarzan Yamada is scheduled to appear, piloting the Crawford Performance 2008 Subaru STI Time Attack race car. Tarzan holds speed records around the world and is well known as regular on the JDM Option DVD series, as well as performing judging duties for the Formula D event series.

Looking to test drive a new 2009 Subaru WRX? Subiefest has partnered with Subaru of America to bring shoppers the ultimate test drive experience: the WRX Track Attack. This unique driving experience will put drivers behind the wheel of a brand-new 2009 Subaru WRX, along with a certified instructor, for a hot lap around the Big Willow race circuit.

More than just racing and driving, Subiefest will also feature live music from Seattle band, "The Endeavors" on the main stage. Their sound has been rocking audiences in the Pacific Northwest to rave reviews for their unique sound and vibrant performance. "The Endeavors" are scheduled to perform during the Saturday night Desert Party, as well as in-between races on Sunday.

Gate entry for Subiefest 2008 is only $10 per day, with practice and the all-night party on Saturday and the main event and show on Sunday. More information and links to register for racing or the Subaru 2009 WRX Track Attack can be found at the official event web site, www.subiefest.com.

We tried to partner with D1 for this year to bring it to NJ. Unfortunatly, that fell through after it was already to late to secure another venue. Hoping for 2009.

The Subiesport crew will be out for GT Live at VIR, maybe we'll see you there!

No, you have to pre-register for this activity which is on Saturday. Click the "Time Attack" button to get details. This is an extra-cost activity. If you want to drive the 2009 WRX on the track you must also pre-register.

To clarify: the no-extra-charge 2009 WRX Track Attack program is free, and requires pre-registration (which is now 1/2 full, so register now if you want to get in!). The 2009 WRX Track Attack runs both Saturday and Sunday.

Open lapping is available on Saturday for any make and model of car (whatever car you want to risk on a track). This activity is $200 (plus the $10 entry) which is a normal fee for track lapping pretty much on any major raceway. Sunday is for racing only.

Aww man. I'd love to go to this since this will only be my second week at my new job in Los Angeles, but FRX is having their rally the same weekend.

Definitely bring this to Jersey too. Us Jersey folk get left out at a lot of good things. With Thunderbolt Raceway already open, securing venues there should be a little easier.

Hey guys we just got to the track today and are setting things up. Just a few notes.

You can BBQ at the track no problem. Officially, alcohol is not allowed outside of the track's own designated areas and must be consumed and purchased there during track hours...

The camping area is a mixture of tarmac and gravel so if you plan on tenting it, I would bring mattresses otherwise you are in for a hard bed.

Lastly, it is HOOOOTTTT. Please make sure you are hydrated so bring lots of water, take it easy with the booze and if you are feeling sick, let us know so we can get you the help you need. Thanks.
It will be a fun weekend, there is a whole fleet of brand new STIs and WRXs already at the track!

The first day of Subiefest 3 2008 is a smashing success. Despite a few offs, a car-fire and one delaminated tire; day one has gone off without a hitch. Already the sun is going down on a day that saw temps reach over the 100 degree mark, but that didn’t stop the dedicated group of Subaru racing enthusiasts from taking to the track in the heat. Festivities will resume again tomorrow starting bright and early at 8am. There is still some room left for the WRX Track Attack, your chance to drive a 2009 WRX or STI on the track. If you are in the area, our desert rave will be starting at 8pm tonight. Admission is only $10 for the entire weekend. Here are some shots from the action today.
