Hey,

I am working on installing a Racepak UDX instrument cluster in my '03 WRX. I have everything working well, but can't get the speed to work.

Does anyone know what type of signal I get when I tap the Vehicle Speed Signal wire at the ECU (A1)? Is it Hall Effect or Sine? Any idea how many pulses per revolution?

Thanks for the help,

False alarm... Got everything fixed -- I didn't notice that the Pulses Per Mile was at zero on the Racepak UDX.

FYI -- On an '03 WRX, you want to tap wire A1 at the ECU (Vehicle Speed Sensor). This is a Hall Effect signal with 2548 pulses per KM (assuming stock tire diameter). That works out to about 3795 pulses per mile, and 474 pulses per 1/8 mile. Not sure these are perfect, but are close enough to get the job done until I can do a calibration.

Love the cluster -- it looks great. Fun weekend -- installed a Defi Boost and A/F meter and the new cluster. Already had a matching EGT. Check it out:
