So I just installed an IXIV A/O seperator on my buddy's 04 WRX. I was pretty much sold on this part after talking to DuckStu at a meet a few weeks ago.

The produt is great, the installation was easy as hell and it just plain works. And it works well. It costs about $235. (Almost $100 cheaper than Crawford's) Plus it fits with a TMIC.

Unfortunately I didn't take any pics, but I'll try to get some up soon. I recomend this to anyone with a built motor or larger turbo.

Is this just one of those things that go in with the PCV valve to prevent oil from going back to the intake tract? Or is this something else, because you can get one of those for 40 bucks at jeg's...

Do you have a link to a webpage or something?

It keeps oil out of your intercooler and such. Thusly, aiding the effects of the intercooler. Not to mention keeping oil from the rest of you induction system.

i just bought one of these too but still yet to install..im about to start in a hour or so...no more oil residue in your intake components, no more oil loss from oil blow by therefore no more adding a half a quart of oil in between oil changes

Isn't that what catch can does?

The only difference I can see is that the condensed oil is sent back into the oil pan rather than just kept in the can.

I'm just wondering why a catch can is $80 and this is $240. What does this do that makes it worth the extra $160

There is your $160 difference. ;)

You're paying for the convenience of not having to empty a catch can and add more oil. All the blow-by oil is just routed back into the system. I don't know where the IXIV A/O separator plumbs it back in though. Care to enlighten us 06Limited?

I do plan on buying this however.
