(Chino Valley, CA) With weeks of internet chatter buzzing along on the local internet Subaru Forums, the doors to the Chino Valley Subaru (http://www.chinovalley.subaru.com) finally opened up to welcome the 2nd Annual SCIC (Southern California Impreza Club) Photoshoot Meet hosted by Chino Valley Subaru, the XXX Crew, a local group of Subaru Enthusiasts, and TMT Magazine (http://themonkeystrunk.com/). Well before the actual event time, numbers of eager Subaru enthusiasts lined up along the street to have an opportunity at a great spot to showcase their pride and joy.

Each attendee that came in was welcomed with a free raffle ticket and a beautiful keychain provided by Perrin Performance. As the rows within the lot began to fill, special guests started to arrive. Two Subaru STi's from EDO Performance occupied the center concrete island while two highly modified Time Attack 2008 STi's from Crawford Performance turned heads as they parked their respective vehicles. A special guest, Stephan Verdier (http://formulad.com/drivers/stephan-vedier.html) of both rally and drifting fame made an appearance with his 2007 Subaru STi built by Crawford Performance, specially modified for drifting. A special thanks to Dan Antonielli at Epic Engineering (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1618566&highlight=epic+engineering), who donated a spring kit for the STi and the WRX, and Horacio Antonielli of HOA Imports who donated two sets of boost control solenoids.

The numbers of vehicles coming in didn't stop for nearly 3 hours. At a final count, an amazing 144 Subarus came out to join in on the festivities. To date, this is the largest meet of Subarus in Southern California. This was only counted in the lot as space was limited but the street was lined with additional Subarus. During the event, Subaru enthusiasts were encouraged to take pictures, swap stories, and brag about the love for their Subaru. Not only were pictures being taken, but the XXX Crew hosted a raffle featuring a plethora of raffle prizes from generous sponsors. The XXX Crew event hosted a "dance off" for a huge prize donated by TMT Magazine! The crowd was entertained with some creative dancing by local Subaru fans. Graciously, Chino Valley Subaru also provided a great lunch of tacos for the huge crowd at hand.

The prizes ranged from apparel from So Cal Subies to a set of ultra high performance tires from Hankook Tires. Additional prizes included WRC Rally DVD's provided by Live Sockets Entertainment , High Performance Air Filters from Cosworth , High Performance Lubricants by Torco Oils, a Set of Lowering Springs from Eibach Springs, Two Tuning Sessions by HB Speed, generous gift bags and certificates from Motul, apparel from Crawford Performance and a boost gauge from EDO Performance.

The SCIC community opened up their hearts as the XXX Crew organized a donation collection for the Red Cross of Southern California to aid in the recovery of the recent and tragic wildfires that set the Orange and Los Angeles Counties. Many donated some money in hopes to brighten a local denizens and that the Subaru community means more than just cars.

At the end of the event, Stephan Verdier showcased his driving skills as he did a quick (and safe) drifting demo in front of Chino Valley Subaru. Although Subaru stands by "The Beauty of All Wheel Drive", it was fun for the crowd to see a Subaru going sideways in a cloud of smoke. The crowd was surprised by this impromptu demonstration of power and performance and Stephan's ability to control such a high performance vehicle. The 2nd Annual SCIC Photoshoot Meet was a success across the board and would have not been possible without the community and sponsors as a whole.



Now that So. Cal has stepped up to hold one of the largest 1 day meets on the West Coast TMT would like to see what other regions can do (Yeah we already know about WBM and Mt. Hammy)!

Also expect the latest issue of TMT just in time for the Holidays/New Year to fill you with cheer and fun.

nice turnout guys, twice the size we've got in South Florida, how many show up at the WBM?

WBM and MT. Hammy (BAIC/Nor. Cal) have ranged in similar numbers (120-150ish) but also get planned out for @6months before hand and have more activities centered around them. This was put together in a matter of less than 2 months and was a photo shoot more than an "event".

Joe's Subie (blob eye) has the APR wing on it. Anthony's (bugeye) has the S202 wing on it. I hope I'm right. :)

^ I agree, however, SOA is getting more involved. They are encouraging us to do more events next year at other dealerships. SPT will also be involved as well. Its nice to have SOA involved as much as they are now. They attended this event as well.

well i sure missed this one. i need to stop paying attention to WRC and pay more attention to SCIC.... Looks like a good meet!

Damn, nice meeting wouldve loved to be there... and see people still wearing shorts and skirts :). Its frickin snowing 4" today and cold. Love the new Altimax Arctics snow tires tho. Great fun at a GREAT price. Nice photos!

Looks like a great time. to bad I could never get something that big and cool organized at the subie dealership I work at. I doubt those guys would come show off their cars here. ah well.
