Hey Guys

I Still have the stock Bridgestone Potenzas on my STI and it is really starting to give me a headache on the streets..I live in SF the City and the noise, the bounciness is really getting to me..

What is a good Stock tire that can give me a better ride in the city and the highway..Potenzas are out the question!

I was looking at the Kumho Ecsta ASX?

Do you care that the grip level will go WAY down with those tires? If you're on a budget I'd look at the Falken FK-452.

No Budget..Just want some good tires that can improve the ride quality...not looking for luxury ride..just a improvement in city driving.

The RE-070's have one of the stiffest sidewalls so pretty much anything should improve ride a little. Do realize that you said 'Stock' tires :P? That really limits things.

If you want good all seasons, I have heard many good things about the RE-960's. If you do a search, I'm sure you will find many threads like this and many tire reviews. gl

I second the Falken FK-452. They are a step down in performance but even 18 inch versions ride better than the stock potenzas.

you could even go with a 235/45 if you want it a bit more comfy

so 235/45 will give more comfortable ride then 225/45 comparing same manufacturer tyres?

Some of the new nitto tires are great for all around performance and comfort ride. Also the bfg's always have been a nice tire. Right now i am running the kdws and love them :)

A second vote, very good ride. However, you will lose a significant amount of grip from the re070. Also look into the re760 sport - it's another very moderate summer tire.

Nice tire. All season or summer only? Do you drive in the rain?
The reason I ask... I had the Falken RT-615's. Best dry tire I've ever had. Like glue. But the BFG's are awesome too.

By reading some topics on the wheel and tire page I think Falken 452 can work, but I am still debating with Dunlop DZ101 which received a 7.3 rating across the boards at tirerack.

I've been very happy with my 245/40/r17 Falken FK452. You can get 245/40/r17 at edgeracing.com for $100 a tire.
