My car has been sitting for about 3 months and had a dead battery. I just a new odyssey pc680 battery. I installed the battery and the alarm worked fine. I entered the car and inserted the key and went to start it. I heard a click and then lost all power. Not sure where to start. I did search in the forum and found a fusible link might be the problem. I'm looking for this part now, however cannot find it. The car is a 04 sti. Help....

I would start (if you hadn't already) with checking all the battery cables for corrosion and looseness.gl
sorry man I just re-read your post and that your looking for the fusible link.....

No problem, any help is appreciated. There is some corrosion on the power terminal and most of it is off. Keep in mind I was able to operate the alarm and the guages started moving once I tried to start it and then everything lost power. This sucks :(

This may be as simple as the new battery not being charged. Sometimes they aren't and you have to put them on a charger before use.

things may be a bit 'frozen up' from sitting....gotta loosen things up a bit mebbe ;)

I'm with Mulder. Charge the battery.
I had my car in storage for a bit and the little 110v charger didn't do it. Had to use my dad's Kubota. Left the tractor connected and running running while we had a leasurly dinner. The car started right up. Still on the OEM battery. (After 5 years I should think about replacing it...)

Turned out to be a bad case of corrosion. I got most of what was on the terminals off from the get go but it obviously wasn't enough. I've got all the stuff I can loosen up off of it, but the is still having issues. Sometimes it will start, other times it will want to start and then I have no power connection after the starter goes click. I'm going to replace the terminal all together. It's amazing how much alittle corrosion can affect the connection.
Thanks to everyone who replied. I'm very happy to have my baby back on the road....especially after driving around a worn down 92 Toyota pickup for awhile.
