It's not the clutch I'd be worried about, I'd be worried about your tranny, driveshaft, rear diff, etc etc.

Launching in general, especially at that RPM is pretty bad for the car all around. But it's pretty fun, none the less.

bye bye tranny http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

oh and... forget your warranty...

they can tell when you've been clutch dumping and SOA will not honor any warranty if you've been drag racing your car...

so gooooood luck.

I have a question concerning launching... Basically, what is the best technique for launching a 2.5RS? I used to just rev to 4000RPM and dump the clutch. It snaps my neck, but bogs after a second or two. Yesterday, I tried slipping the clutch @ 4000RPM, got a better launch (I think) but I don't like the smell of roached clutch http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

Btw, just to confirm:

Dump = release the clutch completely
Slip = release the clutch gradually (gets that roasty smell)

Slip is better on your tranny, but terrible on your clutch life. Dump is easy on the clutch, but hell on the tranny. Depends on which you would prefer to replace. Last time I checked a clutch was a lot cheaper.

Prepare yourself. Save your money for both a clutch & a new tranny, it wont be long now. You may not blow either but you will be glad you saved that money if you do.

So i guess to repair a clutch it is cheaper....
i should start doing Slip then droping the clutch..but sliping the clutch at a very high RPM, i get those Odd smell, like the clutch is rubbing very BAD against the gear.
i dun like that.
Is there any possible way to get a great START, but won't Hurt the clutch and the tranny as much? anyone can help?

With the oe unit, NO.

Slipping is cheaper in the long run.

Start planning (saving) for a performance clutch kit/flywheel, and possible an aftermarket gear set for the transmission, you'll need either of both real soon.
