And, conversely, how many of you never floor it?

It's not an accelerator, It's an ON/OFF switch!, and Yes, I like to hear the sound of my own exaust!

I'd say at least once a day - gets rid of the hesitation problem that seems to effect most of our cars at part-throttle.

An old classmate said he could count the times on his hand the number times he's floored his Eclipse Spyder. That was a year's worth of driving.

I said I'd nailed my A4 5 times before I even get it out of the garage!

Most days are slow days. When the car is low on gas, the pedal gets pushed down further than usual. Hence the reason why I get 360 miles per tank.http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/cool.gif

All the time. But I don't usually let it go past 3000 rpm. It makes for some constant gear changing though.

I can't imagine going a whole day without feeling the floor beneath my foot. Seriously, I floor it at almost every stoplight or stopsign, and always when entering a highway. Why not?

I actually tried driving conservativel back when gas here was $2.00 per gallon, and I could only manage about 26 mpg vs. 23 mpg when I drive however I like. I decided it wasn't worth it.

Skylab must have a 50 gallon gas tank!!

I floor mine too. But sometimes I feel bad for the transmission. <sigh> And I shift at redline. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif I feel this "thud" whenever I do that.

I seem to get better pickup if I don't floor it but push it to just before the floor... So that would be only once in a while. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif

Once I hit the freeway it's open game.

And I hate it when I'm riding with somebody who likes to short-shift all the time. My sister did that in the Miata (no low end torque) and it was painful.

There is nothing better then down shifting up to a corner and flooring the accelerator to pull the car out of a wicked drift. I'm thankful when there isn't a car in front of me so I can round a corner fast. I tell people I don't speed, I just don't slow down around corners.

I actually took a hack saw to my floorboard and cut out the section under the accelerator. That way I can say that I push it through the floor. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gifhttp://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gifhttp://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gifhttp://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif

I got sick of the floor getting in the way of all my fun.

Haven't had a chance to floor my WRX yet. (Short drive to work, and very little free time to drive it, even though I got it 3/16)

As soon as I'm through that break-in period, watch out.

My car: not too much (it's an auto and there's plenty of oooomph to surprise people at a light at about 2500 rpm's)

My girlfriend's '00RS: Whenever I get behind the wheel (which isn't often enough) She doesn't like it too much, but whatever...

Are you not supposed to shift at redline? I hammer all the time and shift pretty damn close to redline and sometimes bounce it off the rev limiter when driving real hard. Sure, It might not be great on the car but you live once. Have fun, drive hard and be safe and smart!
Excuse me while I go listin to my car. It wants to talk to me.

I don't know if you know about Old Highway 40. I have the opportunity to drive if two times a day. As soon as I am on the steep, twisty road my foot seems to find the carpet. I don't care what people think, I am a very safe driver (when not on 40)!!

Hey even during break-in I floored it.I just did't exceed the Max RPMs. Cars love to be "used" just treat the mechanical bits with respect. W O T !!!
