OK,

Here it is, after much frustration and trial and error.

http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=228

Use the instructions as shown on this page with the following exceptions:

DO connect the accessory wire to the turbo timer

DO cut the dark green and black striped wire on the security module under the dash

DO NOT connect the dark green and black striped wire to anything, just tape it off

DO cut the gray wire on the center security module

DO NOT connect the gray wire to anything, just tape it off.

That is it.

This will allow you to both arm the security system and lock the doors while the TT keeps the car running.

Don't forget to tie the purple wire to the parking brake.

BTW, I do not think that the module under the dash is a security module but rather the keyless entry module.

That's exactly how i did mine, has been working without problems for 3 months.

NOTE: If your lights stop flashing when you arm the alarm, your car is in valet mode. Read your manual on how to exit this mode.

If your lights stop flashing? What does that mean? I hope they stop flashing... would drain your battery if they sat there flashing all day.

And I did connect the dark green wire to the accessory line in both places and it seems to work fine.

And what gray wire? I dont remember a gray wire?

Just to verify, but this does infact disable the starter kill, correct?

Yes, your car will be easier to steal. The gray wire on the center security module is the one that disables the starter kill (i think).

If you just cut the dark green wire from the front module, the doors will lock but the security will not arm until the engine stops.

How to steal a wrx with a tt keeping the car running:

break into car by smashing window or picking door lock. alarm will go off. it will continue to go off and you can't stop that without the key.

let the parking break down but not all of the way. you can drive like this.

keep upping the time on the tt, if it gets close to running out of time, punch the timer up.

plan you getaway in a straigt line, because the steering lock is still active.

be careful not to drive near any people, because the alarm is still going off and you can't turn to miss them. be carefull of cops too, driving into things with the alarm going off is a sure sign that you are stealing the car.

Scrap idea, learn to steal a car the right way.

Just a little joke...

I would think that anyone that can steal a car the right way would have your entire alarm disabled in seconds.

For me where I live, there are very few cars stolen anyway but i think that the tt makes your car a bit easier target for the amature.

When you arm the car the headlights and taillights flash 1 time. After my turbo timer install they stopped doing that and I was wondering why. The car only does that in valet mode.

Yes, it does. Does anyone know how to resolve this? I heard that the directions on swankmoney fixed this. Has anyone resolved the arm/disarm with the TT AND have the starter kill???

If you just cut the dark green wire from the front module, the doors will lock but the security will not arm until the engine stops.

I have the apexi timer but neither the keyless entry or factory alarm are engaged when the timer is counting down. I was wondering if this means that if i just cut the dark green wire the the alarm will turn on automatically when the car turns off?

cutting the dark green / black wire isn't enough. it needs 12 volts to power the keyless entry system. this will allow you to lock the doors. you could splice off the tt's accessory wire to the dark green/black wire.

now, the grey wire off the security system needs to be cut in order for the alarm system to think the vehicle is off. this is the ignition sensing wire.

i will draw up a relay diagram to explain this later.

I was only able to have my door locks engage with the TT on if the green/black wire was cut

With the green/black spliced to the TT accessory wire it won't lock until the TT is off.

From what I gather (after 2 hours of troubleshooting...) the Swankmonkey directions are how to set the alarm to lock the doors and arm starter kill with the alarm set to valet or automatic arm -- therefore the alarm arms automatically when the car is off, or when the tt is finished running.

With swankmonkey's post (splice accessory into green/black and grey wires), you have to wait for the TT to be off to arm alarm (lock + starter kill).

Cutting the green wire lets you lock and unlock whenever you choose.

I am still confused by all this and have read every post on the forum 3 times...I want:

key off--tt starts--I physically arm alarm with remote--doors lock--tt counts down and engine dies--starter disable activated.

The only way I can think to do this is by a relay--any ideas?

Okay,

put in a relay in per the thread TT install (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=166452&highlight=timer+install)

Here are my results:
TT on, alarm remote pressed -- doors lock but once TT counts down and I open doors alarm doen't go off. Normally security light flashes in dash when armed, but when the TT is on the Security will not flash.

TT off, alarm remote pressed -- works just like the factory unit -- starter kill works, doors lock.

If I snip the grey wires and get rid of the relay, alarm arms with TT on but no starter kill ability is there.

This is driving me nuts.

i replied in the other thread, let me know if you have any more questions about what i did.

I kept my starter kill by putting a relay between the grey wires, controlled by the ignition wire. when the car's on, it keeps the grey wires separated, when the car shuts off, it connects them.

How about not setting the alarm until you get some distance on the car. say 30 sec away. I have never had this problem. when i stop somewhere I wait a second, turn the car off, grab my stuff and then walk. By the time i get 10 feet away my timer is almost up. Is there any other way except losing your kill start and sensor?

Here are some pics of what to do to the KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE. NOT THE ALARM.

it goes in order

so no one is able to get it to work so that you can arm automatically after the tt is done counting down

about the vacuum tube, where is it? i am guessing it is located along with a bunch of other wires and it has a connector that joins them, then near the end its connected to a three way. but do i just pull apart the tubes from the two way connector and tap in the three way for my tt to read boost?
