View Full Version : Tommy Kaira - Legacy B4 2.2, M3 Slayer? stuttgart 04-03-2002, 01:43 AM this thing looks amazing... article can be found here (http://www.apexjapan.com/eye/) sorry if this is a repost.:( peepshow 04-03-2002, 01:10 PM I'd rather have the Prova tuned B4: http://www.apexjapan.com/photonews/autosalon_subaru/provab4.jpg http://www.apexjapan.com/photonews/autosalon_subaru/b4_25eng.jpg "The B4 might be the biggest selling and best handling sports sedan in Japan, but this radical revision by tuning specialist Prova, is the ULTIMATE B4. When we asked 130 B4 owners late last year what Subaru could do to improve the B4, most nodded to the following specs. First, refit a 2.5 litre flat-4 and bolt on twin Forester turbos which are larger capacity and not sequential. That should boost bottom end torque and get rid of the flat spot. Then add twin intercoolers and get the plumbing right in the engine bay. Add a huge, hungry chin spoiler with massive airdam to feed the intercoolers and channel air to the brakes. Ah yes, brakes. How about 6-pot Tarox calipers up front and 4-potters at back. Next. Throw in the WRX STi’s 6-speed gearbox. And finally add some Recaro seats and sports gauges to complete the package. Well, that’s exactly what Prova has done! Price? Double the B4." - Trent bjteel 04-03-2002, 02:37 PM That Prova sounds cool, but the silver one looks much better! Zahnster 04-03-2002, 05:12 PM Does Tommy K. use their own 2.2 liter kit or do they use like a Jun kit? shirokuma 04-03-2002, 09:38 PM Originally posted by Zahnster Does Tommy K. use their own 2.2 liter kit or do they use like a Jun kit? Tommy Kaira uses their own kit. It costs about 440,000yen or so, or about 1.1 million yen if you have them do it. The cheapest method is to just buy the whole car, since that also includes ECU and exhaust system + other bits and pieces, and costs well under 1 million yen over the cost of a base B4. Paul Hansen Mako 04-03-2002, 11:57 PM For those who wonder about front strut tower bars and their effectiveness in Subarus, I see that Prova didn't put one in their rocketship B4 :p peepshow 04-04-2002, 08:29 AM Sorry, I can't get behind that TK front bumper, why try to make a B4 look like an Evo? - Trent BigElm 04-04-2002, 03:41 PM Now, why mess up a good thing??? http://lumine.net/subaru/legacyb4/graphics/banner.jpg Swwwweeetttttttt :D Porter 04-10-2002, 10:55 AM Originally posted by dsmawd Sorry, I can't get behind that TK front bumper, why try to make a B4 look like an Evo? - Trent Remember, Mitsu stole that bumper design from elsewhere. Subaru has been using protruding foglamps like that since the rally versions of the old Loyale RX Turbo. Some versions of the Pleo have funky lights like that too. Lots of older turbo Nissans have lights like that, among others. Rebellion 04-10-2002, 11:19 AM IIRC TK did the design for the original EVO bumper like that... Mitsu took it from TK. peepshow 04-10-2002, 02:46 PM I wasn't really referring to who the design "belongs" to, but that TK front looks A LOT like the Evo 6 front bumper to me. If you showed someone just the bumper cover, I'd bet "Evo" would be the first thing that came to mind. This is strictly IMO, though. - Trent Porter 04-10-2002, 05:03 PM That's true! ;) |
