I have a 96' impreza brighton. i'm gutting it and making it a monster, no money waisted on paint jobs or looks of any kind, just power... a sleeper if you will...anyways, it's a 5 speed but it came stock with no tach!!! i can shift fine without it but now i have just installed a big old racing tach to program shifts etc.. and it definitely is hooked up right but it doesn't climb when i rev, it just jumps a little when the car starts! I realized after that, that since the car didn't come with a stock tach I probably have to do some extra wiring or something, and thats where i need help. has anyone else had this sort of problem before or knows what to do?!?!?....

thanx, i may look into a new gauge cluster with a tach built in if all else fails. but i would like to know if i could wire something somewhere to make it work. maybe to a sensor of some sort...i don't know..
