i was reading the Road&Track mag. i think and they were saying something about the STi version coming to the US. They said that the engine is builded stronger near the cylinder heads. As in more aluminum instead of gaps. closer gaps i mean, but that's for the 2.0L motor though. i was woundering if Subaru did that to the 2.5L also?? anyone notice?? cuz if that's so, then i think i'm gonna have to swap the new engine into the MY01 RS so i can run high boost without having to worry. could anyone pitch in on this??

to answer the topic question-- NO.

the EJ205 powering the WRX is fully open deck as well, just a smaller bore.

neither of them has the additional bore reinforcement that the new STi block has.
