Pro Tuning by Jorge (RiftsWRX)

As many of you may know IAG and RiftsWRX (Jorge Carillo) have teamed up to bring the MAIC community regular dyno-tuning sessions each month. Jorge has an absolutely outstanding reputation tuning Subarus, and is one of the most renowned Accessport Pro-tuners in the country!

How It Works...
Tuning spots are available for $500 and you will receive UP TO 2 hours of dyno tuning. Sometimes, it will take the whole session to finish up your tune... Other times, it may take only an hour or so. At this point, if you are satisfied, you are welcome to go on your way. However, if there is enough remaining tuning time, you have the option of adding a second tune for race gas or meth. Many of our tuning customers choose to add a race-gas map in addition to their street maps.

Successful preparation leads to successful tuning!!!
To tune with us at IAG Performance, we are now requiring that you have a PDI (Pre-Dyno Inspection) performed on your vehicle prior to tuning. This service will need to be performed at our facility sometime in the several weeks prior to tuning. Pre-dyno inspections WILL NOT be performed the weekend of tuning, as we need to have all cars 100% ready to go prior to Jorge flying in.

The IAG Performance Pre-Dyno Inspection
-IAG performs a compression test and changes plugs if needed
-IAG performs both boost and vacuum leak test
-IAG checks car over for major oil or exhaust leaks
-IAG changes oil and filter (oil & filter sold separately)
-IAG looks over car carefully to ensure it is in tunable condition.

Pre-Dyno Inspection will be performed at a discounted rate of $99. At most tuning shops, the services offered for our Pre-Dyno Inspection would run roughly $250, but we want to do everything in our power to be sure that these tuning days run as smooth as possible. Performing these services does not necessarily guarantee a 100% perfect tuning day, but it does mean that we have made every effort to come equipped and give the tuner a vehicle that has been fully prepared for Pro-tuning.

What happens if there is a problem on the dyno? You receive the full support and expertise of both our owner and lead technician. We will wrench on your car and do everything in our power to ensure a successful tune. Of course, we can never guarantee that every car will go without issues, but this is our guarantee that we will do everything in our power to try to make your tuning day a success! As always, we bring a huge care package of spare parts and tools to be able to deal with any problems that may arise.

What do we need from you? If you would like to reserve a tuning spot, please PM, email, or call us. We require a $250 deposit to hold your spot. Tuning spots will be sold on a first come first serve basis, and a spot is only considered filled when we receive the deposit. Deposits can be made via Paypal, major credit card by calling us, or in person by cash or check. DO NOT send a deposit without speaking to us first. Please contact us with any questions regarding tuning, installation, pre-dyno, etc. PRIOR to making your deposit, as it is non-refundable (see below)

Important Note:
If you cannot make your dyno session for any reason, your $250 deposit is NOT refundable. We make a commitment to this session and to our tuner, and we are interested in working with customers who share that same level of commitment. In certain circumstances, if we are able to fill the tuning spot, we can apply your $250 to a future tuning session, should catastrophic circumstances arise. The most important thing to us, is that before you make your deposit, you are 100% committed to tuning!

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does IAG Tune? As you may have seen in our recent MAIC post, we have completed install of our new in-house DynoJet! Tuning now takes place exclusively at our facility in Westminster, MD!

What kind of engine management does Jorge tune at the IAG sessions? The primary tuning device that we tune is the Cobb Accessport. Jorge will also tune stand-alone devices such as AEM for some customers. We DO NOT offer tuning for UTEC or OpenSource. For more details, feel free to call or email with questions.

When will I find out my tuning time? We will notify tuning customers some time the week prior to tuning with a finalized schedule. We take customers’ desired times in to consideration, but this does not guarantee that everyone will receive their desired time on the nose (example, typically at least 5 customers want to tune in the first spot on Saturday…)

If I have performance upgrades installed on my car prior to the tuning date, will my car be safe to drive until that weekend? Jorge can build a “safe file” for your Cobb AP. We will need at least 1 week lead-time to order these files and have them ready.

In short, you can’t beat $500 for up to two pro-tuned maps by one of the best Cobb tuners in the country and the on-hand support of our experienced staff to back you up. We feel that the MAIC community deserves this level of tuning and care and are glad to be a part of it. If you have any questions please PM, call or email the shop. If you can’t make it to this session, don’t worry, there will be many more! :)

Rick

I'm sure we can work out a package deal. I'd definitely like to help you get the silver car sold so you can get your head focused on more important things (like 10 second Foresters...)

Johnson Window Films Greystone Line with Lifetime Warranty is normally $239.99 but for forum members, we discount the service to $199.99. It is a very high quality tint that is non-metallic and non-dyed. We have a full time tinter here 6 days a week. Let us know when you are ready.

can get a ETA on my order?

I emailed you guys on Thursday of last week twice and called on Friday and was told I'd get a call back, which of course never came. I made my order on May 4th.

I'm not sure what else to do. I've tried PM, email, and phone call. I've got every bolt on imaginable from the intake to the TBE in my room waiting to get put on. I am literally sleeping with my downpipe because I ran out of room to store this stuff.

All I ordered was headers and 44mm uppipe (got my EWG from MA), which I know you guys have in stock (or so you told me). I'll even come by and pick it up if you can just get my parts together. I know you guys have a ton of business, but if you can't get this stuff together can you please at least let me know so I can just get a different uppipe?

One Q - there's a rattle with the Cobb short-throw. From what I've read, this is normal on the 6sp due to a poor fitting pin in the rear lockout ring. Any solutions you know of?

Awesome Guys. Went up tuesday for transmission and clutch. Got it done while i waited. Thanks for the call today Rick for the follow up. Car is running great, much stiffer clutch too. Thanks a lot. As stated yesterday, ill be coming up to get work done all the time. Also I told my friends and they want to come up and check the shop out and what not next time i get something. So other than a bugeye, ya might have my friend (if he gets his subaru that he told you he wanted) in a hawkeye, another in a possible hawkeye or blob, and my best friends evo. Well thanks a bunch, and will be in contact soon for probable tint or body mods. Also might get an AP, cuz Jorge might be coming back. Cant wait for the IAG meet.

Alright,

Just got the car back from the guys at IAG,

Should have been a simple turbo/EWG install and a Walbro Fuel-Pump, a good days worth of labor in and out right?

Wrong, idiot boy here decides he's going to get some AVCS lines that aren't what they're supposed to be and complicate the install...

So I get the call from JJ saying he's got to talk real quick (haha never good from your mechanic), and he tells me that the lines made them pull the intake manifold loose so they could fit...

Which added more time to the install and sent it into the next day, not a big deal...

Unless you are 30 minutes from home and without a car, IAG to the rescue!

Hooked me up with a ride back to my house and then got managed a ride back the next morning and all is well with the world...

So all my ducks are in a row for a tune next Saturday (if only I can live with this bloody 3500rpm limit!)

Thanks again guys,

Cheers,

~Mike

So i need to do my 30k service soon, and i am extremely nervous about the coolant flush and fill portion. I been reading threads about if you use something besides Subaru coolant you could possible void the warranty. There was also mention of the need to use Subaru Cooling System Conditioner as well. It seems that you guys use "Global coolant w/ 1 bottle of Motul MoCool" is that ok? I tried taking Advil but i still have a headache, please give me some good news. I dont dare to look into threads of transmission, differential and brake fluids. Once again IAG you guys are the best and i wont take my car anywhere else, but please help me out with some of my concerns.

Well i just got back from the ultimate customer service weekend. it took 3 staff members literally working around the clock(thanks to james, rick, JJ) and a few other who went home for a few minutes(jeff, fred, boris) to get my car on the dyno in time for jorge to tune( who was no slouch himself pulling and all nighter on friday as well, then flying from chicago to baltimore and tuning 7 cars in 1 day). This includes completely rebuilding the rotated kit for my car since the forester engine fitment is just slightly lower then the wrx so their pipes didn't fit. Also included fabbing up a wrx 5 speed crossmember to fit the new 6 speed since the guy i traded with didn't ship his even though i sent mine to him. Not that I have been to any other shop myself or recommend any other shop since I became a IAG customer but this level of customer service is one small reason why they are expanding their business now while others are shutting their doors and why they have a 100% customer rating

so in summary in 2 days: engine goes in, 6 speed get swapped in, custom forester specific 35r is fabbed, built, and installed

special thanks to ALL IAG staff members

oh and ill be back up sometime soon for my 09 sti brembo install

Tires purchased from IAG are $15 to Mount & Balance (each) or $20 to Dismount current tires, Mount new tires & Balance (each). Of course, all mounting and balancing is performed on our Hunter Auto 34 (almost completely touch-less system) and our Hunter 9700 Road Force Balancing machine (see below :) )

It would really depend on exactly how much fender work is required. Shoot us a PM with what kind of wheel/tire/suspension package you are running, or feel free to call at the shop any time to discuss! :)

Rick

Great job guys on my stage 2 brake upgrade. The difference is amazing and is everything I'd hoped it to be: shorter stopping distance & firmer pedal feel. I'll be back in late Jan or early Feb for the 60K.

Rick, JJ:

thanks for the great work done on my car (02 PSM WRX): 105K service, stage 2 brakes, and the TD04 replacement.

the car is running great and I feel much better about pushing it hard now.

For the time that "Speedy" was at the shop, I thought you had all repo'd her........LOL.

again thanks.

Yeah there are a lot of factors that go into fender rolling turnaround time, obviously with limitless wheel/tire combinations, etc. On an average set up, you can expect 1-2 hours, and more extreme setups, a little more. Most of that time is spent in preparation, to take every precaution possible to help prevent paint cracking, etc.

There are definitely a variety of really nice, scenic drives to get up to our shop from the surrounding areas... Some day when I have a little bit of extra time, I'd like to get a few of those routes together... Seems like a lot of our customers coming up really enjoy taking the more back-road/scenic drives to get here!

I'm still loving the Streetlite flywheel and heavy duty ACT clutch -- even in the snow-of-the-century driving I've been doing lately! The car is still very streetable, even when the streets are snow-covered!
