I finally had the chance to test drive both an S4 and a WRX in the same day. I had been wavering between the two since the S4 was first released in the US.

Now, there's no question. The S4 is a luxury car with a big engine, sloppy suspension, and sloppier shift lever. It doesn't even campare to the WRX. Now the only question is get one now, or wait and see if I can get my hands on an STi-WRX in a couple years?

Do what I'm doing. Get the WRX now, trade it in for an STI if (and when) it's released in the states. This is a great car, and who knows what will really happen with the STI?

I agree. Why wait? Hopefully I'll be ready for the STi or an alternative if/when it arrives, but that didn't stop me from getting a great car now. BTW, I drove an S4 too. WOW! Great car....one of my favorites! It is fast. It feels much faster than the WRX because of the gobs of torque that it has. They are worth the $40K they get out of them, IMHO.

I haven't driven a WRX yet, but I have a friend who has a S4 and man oh man.. That car is sweet. The suspensions are a little week, but the car is solid and quick. Makes my legacy turbo feel like mini-me..
