Note to moderators: please leave this here, since I personally feel this thread has a little more tech knowledge than the others.

That said, here goes.

I'm considering an OBD-II scanner for my Woo. My Subie is a 93 and hence pre OBD-II. Here is a link to the scanner I'm thinking about.

Does anyone have information about this or have used it? All the reviews I found using Google seem to be positive, but I wanted a Subie review as well.

Thanks,
Chad

Are you looking for something to read from your car or others' cars? Yours should be OBD-I if I'm correct... don't know if anyone will know anything about those.

I suppose if anyone is using one of those they'll post.

I almost bought one of the scan boxes that connects to a pc. In fact, I may buy one yet. I you'd *search* (:D) you'll see the ones that have been in group buys here... If you have a laptop they have a lot more powerful interface with datalogging and an instrument panel (o2 sensor, tps, airflow sensor, map, etc.).

The datalogging stuff sounds great, but I don't have a laptop. I was looking at this one for it's ability to just pull and reset codes. For example, I just threw a CEL on my Woo. I know what it's for (I replaced a CAT with a straight pipe), I just want to be able to troubleshoot future codes. Especially if I'm messing with the car. If I took it to the dealer for each CEL I might get in the future, they would probably not want to warranty the work.

As for it working with my 93, it won't. OBD-II became standard in 96 But I want it for my 01 Lanos. My 93 Impreza needs a Haltech...

I am curious if anyone has this scan tool for thier Subie and what they think about it.

So does that mean that MY93 imprezas to MY95 are all OBD I?
