SubaruLover 05-21-2001, 03:13 PM My question may be stupid but why are shift knobs so expensive?

SubaruLover 05-21-2001, 03:27 PM Company: STi
Part: 088
Price: $165.00
The WRC titanium shift knob is very ergonomic, stylish, but still basic in its shape. The WRC logo is enameled in the top of this unit, providing an ever present feel of the Subaru rally heritage. This unit also includes a blue carbon fiber shift pattern symbol
this one... my only idea is because of the titanium.
kaos200 05-21-2001, 03:29 PM you're right, Titanium is NOT cheap,
but neither is anything STI...
SubaruLover 05-21-2001, 03:30 PM i see... like i said "stupid question"
Rexwell 05-21-2001, 03:51 PM I dunno why but I just had to have the Titanium STi knob...the real small one with the STi logo on top.
It just feels good to me. I like the flat top too because I can shift with the palm of my hand flat when cruising around town.
Nice with the short throw...
Crazy what we will spend our money on huh?
I read this quote a while back here on the forum - don't know who it was so I can't give proper credit but...
"My car eats better than I do, it gets premium fuel while I get top ramen."
Pretty much sums it up for me too! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif
2yLiTe 05-21-2001, 03:55 PM The way I see it, it's much like your computer....
If you've got a really good setup, you wouldn't want to skimp on the things that you use a lot..i.e. keyboard and mouse..
we use the shift knob everytime we're in the car, it pays to have one that will withstand the daily rigors of "Rally Driving" hehehehe. oh ok, light to light Rally inspired driving (sound better????)
Rommel
STI titanium shift knob (I read in Impreza magazine that it was modeled after a piston)
I love it!
SubaruLover 05-21-2001, 04:10 PM gotcha
