First event is coming up next Sat. Forcast is 44 degrees high, what you guys think? I'm running Hankook Z214 245/40/18 (c70), which I gotta scub in Tuesday. Should I just stick with the stock Dunlop in this temp.

You'll have a tough time getting those up to temp, I'd skip using them this time around.

In the dry, R compounds will always be softer and thus faster than street tires.

Start with high air pressures to help get the tires up to temp.

High pressures will get a single area on the tire up to temp, but will be harder to build the temp up across and through the tire. Lower pressures give less air to heat up heating up a tire faster (then there is also more flex which heats up the tire faster)

I would leave the pressures alone - maybe drop them a pound or two, and just give the first run extra caution.

I have run R-comps when it was as low as 29' outside and that was for a roadrace. For an autocross, I would probably abandon them below 35' but above that I would take my chances.
