now ive read the hid thread and the lighting thread on here but i just want a basic answer on what i should by cause there are alot of options. i got an 07 2.5 i and my fog light kit just came in. i have 8000k hids on it and i dont think its a good idea to have hid fog lights as well. i saw one post where a guys bumper caught on fire and what not. so i basically just want to know what kind and where i can purchase some brighter bulbs for my fog light kit before i install them. thanks

well first off, take your HID kit off of your car
its not helping you, and it is putting other drivers in danger because of your mistake
secondly, you are right. HID's in fog lights are no bueno
as far as it catching on fire, it could have been a wiring mistake on the owners end, or it could have just been the kit cause they are cheaply made
you need to first find out what kind of bulbs are in your foglights, then we can help you decide which to get

The fire in the guys fog lights had nothing to do with the fact that the HIDs were in his fog lights. It was simply that they were an aftermarket HID kit. All of these kits run this kind of risk. Aftermarket kits are not built to the standards that OEM components are. There is absolutely no quality control or testing done to them other than maybe firing them up to make sure they work before they leave the factory. Your 8000k HID kit is just as likely to catch fire as that guy's was. Get rid of it and get some good halogen bulbs for your low beams while you are shopping for your fog bulbs.
www.suvlights.com has Philips Vision Plus bulbs on sale right now. Those are a good choice for your lows or your fogs. Stay a way from blue or purple tinted bulbs, or bulbs made by non OEM manufacturers like PIAA.
