So I bought my '06 2.5i back in January knowing that the horn didn't work. Later while commuting to work I found out that the CC doesn't work. I figured ok, clockspring... no big deal. Started poking around last night to make sure I had a bad clockspring before dumping $200 on a new one and got stumped.

1) I found the horn disconnected at... the horns. But when I plug them in it blows non-stop. Pressed the unlock on remote, tried key in door, key in ignition, banging on horn pad... nothing stopped it except unplugging the horns, or battery, or pulling the relay.

2) With the cruise, the "CRUISE" lights up in dash when I turn it on, but it wont "SET". Verified with a voltmeter that the brake, clutch, and neutral position sensors are working and they are properly adjusted. Made sure that the connections for the CC behind the airbag is made, and the fuse is good.

Anyone have any pointers on what else to look at? I've spent the last few hours searching the forum and can't come up with anything else to try. I'd rather not take it to the shop if I can avoid it.

It could still be the clockspring. Unplug it and see if the horn stops. If it does, plug it back in, remove the airbag, unplug the horn pad connection and see if the horn stops.

Horn stops with clockspring unplugged but not with horn pad unplugged = shorted clockspring.

At that point replace the clockspring because you know it is bad, and the cruise will probably start working too. Chances are there is only one problem with the car.
