ok so im goin to start going to some solo atlanta events and im trying to figure out what class my car should be in. my computer is being lame and wont let me veiw the scca adobe file to check. so if someone could let me know what class i should enter under that be great..

heres my mods;

gutted stock up pipe
3" cattless turbo back exhaust (with no muffler)
accessport v2 flashed to stage 2
prodrive springs

and i may be getting a new rear sway bar before my first event

Catless and increased boost.

ESP/SM would be the correct classes, for a starting point. Depends on which one you want to run.

Basically SM is pretty unlimited...Street Prepared is more regimented ...

with the mods you are starting with...ESP would be your best choice...
-suspension mods
-Boost/ECU upgrade
-exhaust (no cat necessary)
-LSD's
-lightweight seats
-tune
-Stock Turbo
-cooling and Brake upgrades


SM
-Same as above except:
-Turbo upgrade
-more weight mods to lighten it up
-BIG WANGS..more downforce
-lots more things can be upgraded over the Street Prepared class

oh and does anyone know if they will be anal if i dont have a muffler?? it says its required in the scca rules to keep the event noise down, but ive also seen a bunch of videos with wrx's running an open down pipe

Depends on the site. Some sites have a certain decibel limit and the SCCA is moving to enforcing a limit across the board for all cars.

It's in everyones best interest to keep noises down as low as possible to keep the locals happy, and not lose the site, no matter what the rules state one can and cannot do. Sites are gradually becoming harder to come by...

Yeah most of the Atlanta events are at Turner Field, and Atlanta Motor Speedway. Ill just have to ask some people who attend the events

We do not have sound limits for AR SCCA events however we do like to be good neighbors. We have already lost one site and we do not want to lose another. Registration is open for the event on 3/29.

You should be in STX, but you are missing 1 cat and have too much boost. So for now you go to ESP. :(

You may, or may not have a problem with no muffler. Most of our auto-x events are held at a city park (PIR), and there is a db limit. I live within ear shot and don't mind a bit, but some others do. Nothing like torqueing off the neighborhood.
