View Full Version : 04 Wrx Project
Skiracer8148 03-25-2009, 01:01 PM well hello all im new to this site and the subaru game in general, picked up my first subaru a couple weeks ago,got it off copart and am in the process of fixing it up.i wasnt planning on doing any engine work when i bought the car i was hoping the engine would be mechanically sound and all i would have to do is bodywork.
needless to say when the car was in an accident timing on the passenger side exhaust cam was about half a turn off. so i bought a new belt and set the timing hoping for the best, the car now runs but ticks bad on that one side of the head,so im sure some valves are bent,so now im in the process of ripping out the engine and replacing the valves.
heres some pics of the car when i got it

rezarock 06-15-2009, 06:37 AM Congrats man thats sick. Im in the process of a 04 wrx swap into a 98L and i had the same situation. The 04 got into an accident on the driver side and the battery broke the timing belt, then jumped couple teeth and caused some interference. Good to see that the engine is working cause once my harness comes in, i'm going to try firing it up.
