I'm going down to Hershey, PA on the 4th for their first autocross of the year and I haven't been able to determine what class I should sign up in. I'm driving an 02 wrx wagon w/ prodrive springs, cusco rsb, whiteline steering rack bushings, catless turboback (still have catted uppipe installed) with opensource stg 2 reflash. I'm also running Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS all seasons. Any help would be appreciated.

Howdy - we actually have a thread about this event in MAIC:

Your reflash technically puts you in ESP (if it changes the boost at all) but if you flashed back to stock you could run STX. As it is, if you are on all seasons, I certainly am not going to protest you for running STX.

catless turboback wouldn't be STX, even with a stock boost tune.

Just FYI

umm, anyone else a bit worried on why he is still running a catted up pipe with an uncatted downpipe!?

From what I hear its possible for the up pipe cat to be pulled into the turbo... destroying both...

Possible but really unlikely unless you are running an atmospheric BOV or something.

ESP. If you plan on doing a bunch of events, gut the up pipe, roll the fenders for wider "Extreme Summer Performance" tires, and have fun with the new autox setup! I just ran the same tire in the last Philly autox and......all wheel drifting is fun but not fast:D! Thankfully, I'm having my fenders rolled on Sunday so my 235 star specs will fit properly.

If I didn't blow up my 2.0 and decide to STi-ify my wagon, I'd run STX and strive to be a real competitor. You're not far from going back to STX and I envy you lol!

Good luck!!!

So what would I need to change to be able to run in STX? I know that I need to have a cat installed in my downpipe and be reflashed to stock boost. Anything else?

STX is probably more bother than it's worth if you're just starting. Beyond getting a catted downpipe, and most definately getting rid of the uppipe cat, you need to pick the "right" downpipe that won't upset the ECU and throw a CEL for emissions. You can't hide/disable the CEL either if such a thing is possible with open source as it is with an Accessport. There are threads on those issues in this forum as well. Stay with ESP and get rid of that uppipe.
