It's a My00 RS. I am adding the Cusco lower tie bar. I have a suspension setup, so it's a bit tight under there.

Thanks-

I've always used the jacking points just in front of the rear wheels

Many guys jack up the whole rear by putting the jack on the diff. I don't know how safe it is for the diff.

I jacked up the car on the rear diff a number of times. It sounded more solid than the front crossmember jacking plate...

I even used a piece of wood to cushion between the jack and the diff/jacking plate (I recommend it). my wood block is pretty soft, the metal contact points dug into the wood a little. So IMHO, I'd avoid the metal to metal contact.

you can use the axle, but the best place is the torxe box area (the box section at the end of the rocker panel)
that is the strongest part of the car ;)

Never get under a car that is held up solely by a jack. Never. It's a risk you don't need to take.

I've used my differential protector as the jack point for my hydraulic jack a number of times. Then I put jack stands in front of the rear tires at the factory jack points. I've bent the metal on those jack points doing so. I've read about folks who cut a slit in a hockey puck to put in between the jack stand and the jack point to avoid bending the metal like I did.

I've done the same thing on my RS, bent the jack points and wrecked the paint around that area. I would not recommend jackstands on the RS for this reason, you won't forgive yourself when that nice body panel bends like paper. Use ramps, they are so much easier.

Just my 2 cents.

Stanley is right, never get under the car when it's only on a jack. Ramps are fine if you just want the car higher, ramps don't help at all if you want to change brake pads!

Or rotate tires...
