hiya, lookign for some help / advice / criticism please

the car is a 2005 sti with dccd and factory front diff (suretrac I think they call it)

the need is for more precise turn in and reduction of understeer

the local wizards that run a similiar car in production racing have recommended a spec c sti front diff
i am leaning towards the cusco adjustable front ls diff (1.5 or 2.0)

does anyone have any other proven products that they can suggest ?
is the cusco as good as it seems on paper ? and am i right to be looking towards the front diff to sharpen turn in and reduce understeer under power ?

the car has KW coilovers, big big brakes, runs uhp tyres

actually the 05 is a Helical Front diff....04 has the Suretrac....

You're not under power when you turn in are you? I was thinking the Helical probably isn't doing anything when you turn in. If you go clutch type, the clutches will lock when you apply power and you'll have to fight some torque steer. I guess what I'm asking is how much impact does the LSD have on turn in when you're not under power during turn in typically?

I'm thinking you need more caster or a better alignment......but that's just me.

Try this first..

running 4 degree negative in front - not sure of caster - what should caster be for better turn in ?

im going to be running a cusco 1 way up front... stance GR Pro's w/ External reservoirs 10k/8k for what its worth i was told the 1 way is much more linear in the way it grabs..

Is the car going to be used as a pure race car or is this just an occasional track car?

I've always been pretty happy with Helical diff's like the torsen. Had one on my civic and now have one with the 6 speed. Buddy of mine has a clutch front diff in his integra, he sometimes has to fight the wheel because it causes torque steer. Not on entry of course but, on exit.

cgmdan the car is not a daily driver and the most street driving it will see will be from home to the workshop and other shops like alignment etc, it would be nice to drive to the track and prove a point but for practical reasons like tyre heat cycles etc this will not be done, so track track track, the car has a stripped interior and one seat with lexan windows
