My dealer is useless, he doesn't know the difference between a sailboard and a kayak!

I know Yakima makes a kayak stacker for the OEM subaru roof rack found on OBSs and Wagons.

Can anyone help?

The stackers are nice, but I just had to buy a new rack system for my WRX sedan. I had an Explorer with Yak rack and stackers but could only use the cross bars for the new setup. For anybody interested, apparently Yakima does not recommend the stacker for use on the sedans, and I bought a set of the Landshark cradles for my car and kayak. I guess the combo of how the Sedan rack fits and the strain that the stackers would put on the roof, it is advisable to not use them.
As I am sure that most of you know, but if you are going to have a roof rack, you might want to have some attachment on it, or a deflector, the wind noise is horrible with just the bars (not sure how it is with a wagon).

Thanks SoCal but that the standard Yakima attachment. I need an adapter that fits the the OEM rack and not the round Yakima bars.

My quest is becoming more and more difficult. Here's an answer I got from SOA:

Thank you for visiting the Subaru Website and for your inquiry. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us, however; we do not usually provide part numbers to our customers as we rely on our dealers to provide this type of service.

Regardless, I have checked for you, and unfortunately, I am not showing any type of Kayak Stack Adapter either. My first thought was maybe this is not a genuine Subaru Accessory, as my records only show that there are straps, nuts, bolts, and mounting clamps. My second thought is maybe the adapter is available but just not from us.

I would recommend contacting either the place of business that you purchased it from or if it is truly a Subaru accessory, I would contact Yakima at (www.yakima.com) for further assistance.

I hope this information is helpful. Sorry for any confusion.

What's odd is a few guys guarantee that they own this adapter!

Is this what you're looking for?
https://ssl.autocenter.net/webparts/acatalog/Online_Catalog_Racks_and_Carrier_Systems_272.html

If you are just looking for the adapter clamps, Yakima makes them as well. They're called Mighty Mounts, and they make them for many different OEM cross bars. Sports Rack carries them and can tell you what part number to order: www.sportsrack.com (http://www.sportsrack.com)

Hope this helps

Hi Caron,

I have a brand new set of the Yakima-made stackers from subaruparts.com. I bought them, pulled them out of the box, placed them against the bottom of my boat's hull, and found they weren't a good fit. I might be willing to part with them. PM me if interested.

Thanks,
Ed

Does anyone have one? does anyone have the part number?

Thanks for your replies!

Like I said, contact Sports Rack. The rack parts are all made by Yakima, so there is no Subaru part number.
