Hello all, Conti Subaru is going to have another Outlaw Night. We're planning on Thursday, May 7th at 6:30 p.m. Hotdogs, hamburgers, etc. will be there of course. Maybe Kiwi can come in and regulate the burgers :D

There will be a 10% discount to all NASIOC members purchasing parts that night. We will have old and new stock out and most of it will be sold at cost. Alex(GrinderAK) will be working but I'm sure Andrew will be hanging around having a good time.

At this time, we will not be performing any work that night, this will be more of a NASIOC cookout hosted by us. We will be scheduling appointments during the cookout at a discounted labor rate($75.00 an hour). That may change as interest increases, so keep checking back for updates.

Well, I have some good news for everyone. After much thought, we think it would be silly to not allow people to bring their kids. They are more than welcome. We just wanted to avoid any unfortunate incidents which might result in injury. We must stress though, that you should keep a closer eye on them than usual. There are dangers in the shop, but I'm sure you're all very aware of them. We hope all of you can join us for this special event!!

Appreciate the food and the company. I guess personally it was a little hard to jump into it. Girlfriend wanted to tag along to see what the group was like since she wants to get a WRX wagon this year and she was disappointed nobody really opened up and said anything. People kind of "circled" and talked amongst themselves and it was a little hard to jump in. Looking forward to some meets later in the summer but hopefully a little more "openliness" I guess for lack of better words. Otherwise with summer looking as good as it is now there will be the chance for a few good get-togethers..

I was trying to "make my rounds," too. I like to jump from group to group as well. I just stand by and get into convos as much as possible, just to mingle with everyone.

well, those of you that know me know that I'm not very outgoing or chatty when it comes to groups of people so don't take it as unfriendly or that I don't like you. I'm the ultimate lurker at events with lots of people :lol:

That wasn't a blaming comment, if anyone took it to that degree. It wasn't someone's fault, just maybe next time we can do a little introduction to open the circle up rather then cause I only knew maybe 2-3 people total, and that felt kind of akward walking around looking at everyone else's back.

Saturday will be difficult because I'm installing a new Uppipe-exhaust manifold on the car in the morning, she's got work as well. If anything is after 6 then we can make.

I have observed the same thing and am usually jumping is and introducing myself and others, you aren't the first to comment about that...

Yep.

You have to be upfront and bold and introduce yourself to people. Not just stand on the sidelines. If you do that, then noone will ever know who you are. I'm new to the forum as well, and I am meeting more and more people every meet and greet we have.

I will stay with a group from time to time simply because we're engaged in good conversation, not because we're "elitist" or staying in cliques. I jump from group to group as much as I can, just so I can be involved in as many conversations as I can.

Hell, ask Chano. When I was at the Meet and Greet thing at the Bowling Alley, I was all over the place.


If you just stand and expect people to come up to you, it's probably not going to happen. You have to make the effort. People will stay within their comfort level, which most of the time is with people they know. You have to make the move. That's what I'm doing, and I meet new people all the time.

Most of the time I can't remember their name, but we'll remember each other after a while...lol

Hey there, we'd just like to thank everyone for coming out, it was great to see you all there. It was really nice that all the Evo owners weren't too shy to make it. And to everyone that couldn't be there, we hope to see you next time, as we're going to try to have many more this summer. And don't worry, the food will last a bit longer next time.
